We're halfway through the group stage and most groups have at played at least a handful of games. The big news of the day however is the nerfs (or "unbuffs" if you prefer for Luna's/Extra Arms). The release date for the nerfs is 8/26 which will be the final day of group play. I made a post in Discord yesterday as we did start to anticipate this happening. Decks will NOT change during the group phase. However, all players who advance to the knockout phase will have the opportunity to switch decks if they want. It's not necessary, but will be a universal option. We'll delay the official start of the knockout phase until 8/28 to give everyone a day or two to mess around with the new meta and make decisions about their lineup. And now, on to the recap!
Saku's world cup comes to an end with back to back 2-0 losses to Aviously and Rain. This group is now a three way race.
Donde manages to get back in the game with a 2-0 win over Terdherder. Praise be to our new overlord Zephrys the Lethal. Terd is only one match into his World Cup so plenty of time to turn it around.
Our final game-less group gets in on the action as RonMexico defeats BrushyTuna 2-0. These two were projected to possibly take this group so this has to feel real good for Ron to get the upper hand.
Kols keeps it steady with a 2-1 win over Darkseid. Kols is all but assured a spot in the knockout round. If he can pick up at least one game on RageDopple he'll be a guarantee.
You may recall I mentioned that ShadowRanger is the best player in this tournament no one talks about. He took down Catman 2-1 last night. Catman is sitting in top 100 legend right now so you know that Shadow means business.
