Hello ladies and gents of THL! As we head into the final week of Ragnaros League’s 8th season, join me (Sage) in taking one last look at the angry mob of players currently competing for the MVP award & an All-Stars spot.
7-1 The Titanic Two There are 2 glorious 4-seeds tied at 7 wins & 1 loss going into week 9. Direstbear of The Poo People, and Maikel of the Thermic Whimps. These 2 Bad M*Fers have been having an insane season dominating the 4-seeds in their respective conferences. They are close enough to smell the finish line at this point, but nothing has been decided yet! 6-2 The Notorious Nine Week 9 sees 9 tenacious combatants biting and clawing a modest 6 wins & 2 losses to stay in the running. Split into seeds, there are 3 1-seeds (BoomBoomHall, DZB, Earl), 1 2-seed (Bluesombrero), 2 3-seeds (Switters, Twizz), and 1 5-seed (Cakes) in this group. Unfortunately for two of the hopefuls, Bluesombrero and Twizz, their opponents failed to submit classes in a timely manner, ruining their chances at the crown. Game Wins Do you love percentages?! I love percentages! Of all the players in the 6-2 group, the lone 5-seed, Cakes of Spicy Boys, is tentatively leading the pack in game wins with a 22-12 (64.71%) record. Cakes is closely followed by DZB (20-12), and Twizz (22-14). All three of them boast 60%+ game win rates. Meanwhile, there is an entire 6 game difference between the Rookie of the Season, Maikel (21-8, 72.41%), and the scrappy beast that is Direstbear (21-14, 60%). ~ ~ ~ Who will rise up and win MVP? Will one of the two 7-1 players maintain their leads over the 6-2 players, respectively? Or will we see someone fall from the top, and make things interesting? The answer will be clearer come this Monday, so all we can do is wait in anticipation for now. Join us next week when we return with Ragnaros Player Power Rankings, Playoff edition! |
