This guide will provide you all the information you need to get started in THL.
- The first thing you want to do is join our discord! Discord is our social hub and primary method of communication for players and captains. You can find a link here: https://discordapp.com/invite/NrB5Wum. Please feel free to reach out to any board member or admin in the discord if you have any questions.
- Second, you’ll want to find your player rating (PR). PR is used to pair THL players with others of a similar skill level for matches. Your initial PR is based on your ladder finishes, and changes based on performance in THL matches. You can find the PR calculator here:
- Next you want to decide what series you want to play in. Legacy Series is conquest format with teams and closed decklists. Hero Series is the Last Hero Standing format with teams and closed decklists. Pro Series is conquest format with teams, no PR cap, and open decklists. You can play in as many series as you'd like!
- Next, you want to register. From the home page, mouse over Series, then mouse over which series you want to play in: Legacy Series, Hero Series, or Pro Series. Then mouse over Forms, then click Registration. Fill out the form and you’ll be registered! We recommend you register for all the series especially if you want to play in more than one series or if you don’t really care which series you want to play in.
- Finally you’ll want to post in our free agent channel in discord if you don’t have a team yet. Please include your PR in the post and what series you will want to play in. Feel free to scroll up and follow the format of others in the channel.
- The best time to join THL if you want to be on a team is usually right after an expansion releases. THL seasons are based around expansion cycles, with a ~5 week offseason before the season starts to give players time to find teams. If you you want to join and find out a season has started already though, don’t fret. Teams are always looking for replacements and substitutes. You should still post in the free agent channel that you want to play, and captains will contact you!
