THL Twitch Standards
In an effort to improve the quality of our twitch content, effective immediately, we will be implementing standards for our Broadcasters and Casters to increase the level of professionalism in our streams. These standards will only apply to content being broadcast on the official THL channel.
The goal of casting and hosting is to put on a successful high-quality cast that encourages future participation and paints THL in a positive light.

The goal of casting and hosting is to put on a successful high-quality cast that encourages future participation and paints THL in a positive light.
- No technology issues (dropped frames, poor audio levels, etc).
- No production concerns (inappropriate content on stream, background noise, etc).
- No unprofessional behavior (casters using derogatory or excessively profane language, no insulting of players, no heated disagreements).
Stream Host
Do:
- Have a THL overlay and all appropriate graphics ready beforehand Have all players, stream co-hosts, etc added before the stream.
- Be present! You never know when something will happen and throw you off schedule.
- Test your stream beforehand - broadcast with the bandwidth test to make sure you don’t drop frames. Make a test recording with other hosts and a “dummy game” in the background to ensure audio levels are acceptable.
- Turn off all audio notifications on your system, whether they’re from windows or other sources.
- Disable all pop-up notifications if using display capture.
Don’t:
- Interfere with the stream - text, images, etc on screen.
- Play games or do other stuff in the background. You could risk stream quality.
- Leave your mic on if you’re not also casting.
Casters/Talk Show Hosts
Do:
- Create an environment lacking background noise. You will be talking a lot! Push to talk is still probably your friend as well.
- Constructively discuss the plays on stream - and if there are other reasonable lines, discuss them professionally.
- Create chemistry with each other - make sure all hosts are equally evolved in discussion.
Don’t:
- Be insulting! You want players to want to be on your stream.
- Be profane. We need professionalism.
- Get into heated arguments with your co-host. Disagreements are fine if handled quickly and constructively but you need to keep chemistry.
- Show imbalance in your casting. You can cast a match of someone that you’re friends with, but don’t undermine one player’s play due to outside information you’re bringing into the match or focus too heavily on the person you know.
