Team Black Lotus started the season with a roster consisting of Bonja, Arthur Rhodes (NaCl), TonyMontana, ForceOfWill, and Vedney. All of these names are recognizable to any League member who has been around for a bit with the exception of newcomer Bonja. During recruiting season team captain, ForceOfWill, decided to answer the call of "let Vedney play." Unfortunately for TBL, Vedney was removed from the league for misconduct, but not before going 0-4 on the season with a DQ and winning only 2 of the 11 total games he played. A quick rundown of their path this season starts with 16-9 loss in week 1 to Flint Tropics. Week 2 turned out to be just as rough with a 15-11 loss to Sexy Hombres in Texas. Things started to turn around for TBL in week 3 with a 13-9 win over Zona Peligrosa, and a week 4 win against Xplosive Sheep 15-11. The momentum continued when they wrestled down another big name in SHL, The Defias Henchmen, 14-11 in week 5. In week 6 TBL picked up Cyclometh as a permanent replacement for Vedney and took down Team Weasel Shark 15-11. The fate of their season rested in Week 7 when they faced off against DaddyUp. TBL needed to Either win this match or see Defias Henchmen fall to TeamWeaselShark, the bottom team in the division. The pressure got to TBL in that final week and they took a big loss 16-10. Defias Henchmen won their series and squeaked into the playoffs just ahead of Team Black Lotus by 2 points.

Greetings, Earthlings!
In case you missed it here, September gave birth to THL’s first league-wide race to the esteemed legend rank. The race was separated by brackets based on players’ Player Rating (PR) as of September 1st, creating three playing fields in the 100-249, 250-399, and 400-500 PR ranges. #1: durtymike (6-0)
Continuing to firmly cement himself at the top, durtymike is a true powerhouse this season, slaying every matchup he has come across in the 3-seed. With a very strong chance at an undefeated season, durtymike will face off against Zerotio as he moves into the 2-seed. #2: seohyun628 (5-0, 1 DQ Loss) seohyun628 continues his dominant THL performance, defeating Ztdubz, DLineman, and Zerotio with 1 total game loss. This guy is totally dunking on the 2-seed, and an undefeated season is in his sights. He faces Gideoneko in Week 7. #3: JoshSampson (6-0) The ever resilient JoshSampson has found himself close to the top of our list, attaining a record that only durtymike has so far at 6-0. Looking to continue his phenomenal THL legacy, Josh will face off against the slow and patient BoomBoomHall to see who comes out on top for the week. #4: Misadventure (5-0) Misadventure maintains her undefeated record at the 1 seed. Her wins over Slimsch, MVParker and SlippinJimmy help cement the Stubbies’ playoff position. We hope to see more great things from her as she faces off against DZB of Always Topdeck Lethal. #5: theflyestlai (5-1) Team Golden Wisp has an excellent player in theflyestlai, and captain Alec sure knows it. With fly picking up crucial points this season, and only dropping one set, he cements himself firmly in the number 5 spot on our list. Fly will be facing off against veteran THLer Hambowen this week, and he will for sure be out for blood. #6: Sirlos (5-1) Sirlos, like seohyun, has gone 9-1 in his last 3 matches. He’s taken wins over Rankaloid, Force of Will, and Durden, bringing his game win percentage up to 73%. We would say he’s carrying Dirty Mike and the Boys, but every player on DMB seems to have been doing as well. #7: Cody (5-1) Cody, at 5-1, is a runaway standout this season, boasting an impressive 65% game winrate. With the numbers to back him up, it is very hard to overlook this player, and we won’t be again any time soon. With RockBass waiting for him this week, I would expect to see Cody on this list again in the near future. #8: Nate (5-1) Nate is making the Texas Stubbies proud with his impressive 5-1 record, taking down the likes of YellowDart, Mainge, and Imbolc. Coming in at 417 PR, these wins are incredibly impressive and tell us to keep our eyes open and on this star. Going into the week against Rkeysar, Nate is looking to improve his record to 6-1. #9: Earl (4-1) Earl takes on the 1 seed! He’s gone 2-1 since our last PPR, but wins over jfury and JRJuggernaut mean he’s up for the challenge. In Week 7, he takes on what might be his hardest matchup yet in THL veteran Brewski. #10: AlecGWPodcast (4-1) Alec from Team Golden Wisp sneaks into our list at 4-1. His last 3 weeks have been victories over 3 very consistent players in NaCl, Hockeyboyz3, and Mojopowell. This TGW top half is an absolutely dominant force, dropping 2 total matches, and we’re watching to see how their performance continues. Authors: MemyselfandI and Leumer Mid-Season Edition HeyGuys, and welcome to the Mid-Season review of THL Season 7: Resurrection. In case you missed it here we (Markshire, FollowDurden, and Nade), wrote a Preseason edition of Salty Storylines just after divisions were rolled to talk some league lore and predict how the divisions, teams, and players might perform. Now that Week 5 has passed and we’re halfway through the season, let’s take a look at how many predictions Markshire got right, how many of Durden’s opinions were wrong, and if Nade still has a bulge in his pants over the Blue Division.
This week we’re checking out rookie team Thermic Whims. Helmed by Switters, Thermic Whims is having a solid first season in THL. Thermic Whims is comprised entirely of rookie players, and they were all THL free agents before being brought together by Switters. This past week, Thermic Whims slammed the strong playoff contenders, PCC, 20-9. They're sure to continue taking names and kicking butts this season, so let's get to know their names.
“Get ‘em out!!” said the evil THL, Inc. dictatorship.
“We’re in 13th place LUL,” laughed the professional meme team of 2017. The Bad Hombres: once a just-for-fun meme squad who was more interested in enjoying the game than scoring points, now…. still the same, just doing better than your team. |
