by TeamHearthLeague AP For those of us in the northern hemisphere we recently welcomed in spring and just as that season ushers in new things, this past week in Team Hearth League also brought about a lot of change. Not only do we have a new team at the top of the rankings, but throughout there was a lot of change with only three teams seeing no movement from the previous week. Let's take a look and see which teams are blooming and which teams are starting to wilt away. 1. The Hairy Generals (last week 2) – 1st Blue – 106 pts![]() Before week six it could have been argued that the Generals should be the highest ranked team, but with Team Rank Five losing the argument has been settled and the Hairy Generals are the new No. 1. That doesn't mean things came easy this past week for the new top dog, taking a five point victory over a scrappy Top Deck Kings team. As mentioned before, the fourth seed continues to be their one weakness as Detrucci and GernBlaston rotate in and out of the lineup. PokeHer's surprising loss this week means there will also be a change with the top two seeds going into the last week of the regular season, and if Markshire continues his success we may see even more seed shuffling moving forward. 2. Soupreme (last week 3) – 2nd Blue – 103 pts![]() Last week the team of Soupreme survived with a two point victory over the Top Deck Kings and this week found Soupreme once again winning by a slim margin, this time it was a one point victory over Team Golden Wisp. The 1K duo, Cheesee10 and DeerJason, keep winning and remain the best 1-2 pairing in the league but as they were the only members to win this week the concerns over the rest of the roster remain. 3. Team Rank Five (last week 1) – 1st Orange – 103 pts ![]() Week six started off well for the boys at Team Rank Five with Cassity gaining a win from disqualification but things quickly went south from there. TR5 would go on to lose three of their four matches (Imbolc being the lone victor) and as a result the Super Heroes came away with a one point victory. What does this loss mean for the team that occupied the top of the rankings for so long? TR5 is just three points shy of being undefeated and is still one of the scariest teams in the league so I wouldn't overreact but I think the loss does show that they are indeed mortal. 4. Entropy (last week 4) – 1st Red – 100 pts A battle of the two best teams in the red division occurred this past week and when the smoke settled Entropy emerged victorious over Continuum. This makes for a third straight win and after an early season stumble it seems Entropy is peaking at just the right time. Arthur Rhodes and Jaxox both collected wins again this week and with Firpo winning by disqualification the margin of victory only increased. 5. The Gosu Casuals (last week 5) – 2nd Green – 90 ptsAnother team to enjoy a three game win streak is the Gosu Casuals who defeated Pure Strategy in week six. Slimsch earned a win over the always dangerous YurYuri, while Jingbudda and ADKT both swept their opponents to secure the series for the Casuals. After a rough start to season two, Slimsch and company have bounced back and will play next week for the Green Division title. 6. Those Filthy Roleplayers (last week 7) – 1st Green – 92 pts ![]() Speaking of the Green Division, after a trouncing of Xnergy, Those Filthy Roleplayers find themselves sitting atop of the division with just one week to go. Xnergy forfeited two of their matches against the Roleplayers but of the matches played, arbitraryarmor had a nice sweep over Pacetry and Casuallyfoxy picked up his first win of the season. This victory over Xnergy is now their fourth win in a row, only the Hairy Generals have a longer winning streak. 7. Continuum (last week 6) – 2nd Red – 85 pts![]() Continuum squared off against Entropy in hopes of closing the gap between them and the leader of the Red Division but that gap only widened as Entropy took the series. While Entropy has reeled off three straight wins, Continuum has went in the opposite direction and dropped their lost three contests. On the topic of streaks, Adidas5482 has now extended his winning streak to five after taking down the highly touted LoadedLux. 8. Archon Storm (last week 12) – 3rd Red – 77 pts ![]() After a week one tie the team of Archon Storm alternated wins and losses, that was until this most recent week where a win over the Dream Team has them with back-to-back victories. Crucial to this victory was Gideoneko and n00basaurus obtaining wins over two substitute players of the Dream Team. With only a week to go the playoffs are still within reach, will they able to grab a spot? 9. Noob Central (last week 13) – 2nd Orange – 83 pts![]() Noob Central kept true to its trend of close series with a three point win over Boom Squad. The victory over Boom Squad ends a three game losing streak for the Noobs and is huge because of how much it meant for the playoff race in the Orange Division. Kuthroat had a nice win over Dlineman and Godsgift6917 followed his upset over Mainge with a sweep over Asuna. It seems going forward there will be a new five seed for Noob Central so we'll have to see what effect that has on the team. 10. Pure Strategy (last week 8) – 3rd Green – 77 pts![]() After an early season win against Soupreme and with a very balanced roster it seemed Pure Strategy was in a great position but finding success has been difficult, compiling three loses since the opening week. The most recent of these losses was to the Gosu Casuals by five points, a blow that dramatically reduces the team's playoff hopes. 11. Boom Squad (last week 10) – 3rd Orange – 76 pts![]() A three game winning streak for Boom Squad was snapped when they faced off against Noob Central in week six. Brunson and TinyHippo both received wins but it wasn't enough to get the victory. This was an unfortunate loss for Boom Squad because of what was at stake in terms of the playoffs and also because a big showdown against Team Rank Five looms ahead, though they are still within striking distance of the postseason and anything can happen. 12. Super Heroes (last week 15) – 4th Orange – 73 pts![]() As mentioned before, the week started off poorly for the Super Heroes as they registered a disqualification to start the series against Team Rank Five. However, this didn't deter a heroic effort to take down the League's top ranked team. Not only was this a big upset but Iamplanb gave JesusC his first loss on the season, something that surprised nearly everyone, possibly including Iamplanb. Even if this win isn't enough to get them into the playoffs it will be a nice highlight of their season. 13. Team Golden Wisp (last week 11) – 3rd Blue – 65 pts ![]() Going against Soupreme is never easy but Team Golden Wisp came up just one point short of the upset. AlecGWPodcast and Hupnar, like many before them, were unable to get past the mighty Soupreme duo but the rest of the roster saw better success. Team Golden Wisp will head into their last game of the season hoping to end a four game losing streak. 14. Xnergy (last week 9) – 4th Green – 69 pts![]() The preseason No. 1 started the season off well but since then it has all been downhill, and at this stage it's safe to say the wheels have come off. Much like Pure Strategy, early success and a strong roster on paper meant high expectations but with a fourth consecutive loss reality has settled in. Besides the losses, there have been three disqualifications over the past two weeks which is a little distressing as well. Somewhat fittingly Xnergy and Pure Strategy will end their seasons playing against each other. 15. Dream Team (last week 14) – 4th Red – 72 pts![]() It's usually tough having to sub one of your players out but the Dream Team needed to two subs in their loss against Archon Storm. Speaking of substitutes, SmokedSalmon grabbed a win over perhaps the most popular substitute in Necrohavoc. With that win SmokedSalmon continues having a nice season for himself. 16. Top Deck Kings (last week 16) – 4th Blue – 61 ptsAnother week, another close loss for the Top Deck Kings; this time they came up five points short to the Hairy Generals. A special shout-out to JustSteveHS for subbing in for KremePuff and in his first ever match acquiring a win over the 500 PR player PokeHer. Next week the Top Deck Kings will clash against Team Golden Wisp in the battle of the podcasts, looking to take home their first win in THL.
