By Jerry "JerryDamage" Cook Welcome to the second Player Power Rankings for Season 4. We’re starting to see some players rise to the top of the league and as a result their teams are finding success too. One thing I wanted to address before we get to the rankings is how I do disqualifications with this list. DQs are always going to be tricky. They are scored as a sweep but the games aren’t actually played. The way I score them is I count the match win and loss but I do not count any games played for this, since the games weren’t actually played. If I didn’t count them at all, I feel that it’d be cheating the player who was awarded the points for the DQ. Through no fault of their own, their opponent could effectively drop them off of this list if I scored it that way. So I chose to do what I viewed as the fairest way and count it as a win but not score the points you get for the games since those weren’t actually played and that would skew the data. The system I’ve based this off of does this similar where it’s 0-0 as far as games played but the win is awarded to one player over the other. In short, if it works for competitive Magic, it can work for the PPR. And with that, it’s onto the top ten. 1. JesusC (3-0, 9-1) JesusC stays at the top of the rankings after having dropped only one game all season! He doesn’t care what seed he plays at or whom his opponent is, which is good because this week he squares up against the venerable Jingbudda. 2. DagRandolph (3-0, 9-2) Talk about hot, after losing his first two games in THL, rookie Dag Randolph has won his last 9 straight games. To top that off, he’s possibly the first 5 seed in league history to hit Legend. This week he has a very tough tough challenge as he faces TheAnarchist when the Generals take on Entropy. 3. Slimsch (3-0, 9-2) After Friday Night Hype, we knew that between he and Gnetz, only one would remain on this list. Team Rank Five’s top seed came out on top and also rose up the list as a result. Between Slimsch and JesusC, it’s not a surprise that Team Rank Five are having the season they are having. The challenges keep coming as Slimsch faces the number nine player on this list, Vendi. 4. B0rck (3-0, 9-2)
It’s been an outstanding start to the season for B0rck. He’s got a 3-0 win over Lordforehead and 3-1 wins over PinkSamus and FezSama. This week he takes on ArcaneTHL. 5. Adidas5482 (3-0, 9-2) The Yogg Champs captain is leading by example this season. He’s been dominant in the 3 seed, but this week he moves to the 2 seed as he swaps places with Dunamis. He’s got a 3-0 victory over JediNinja and 3-1 wins over AlecGWpodcast and SuperExplosiveSheep. This week he faces TopHatDemon. 6. Aroy (3-0, 9-2) Aroy is having a great start to the season. So far this season he’s gotten 3-1 wins over Jingbudda and Godsgift6917 and a 3-0 victory over THLeumer. This week he looks to stay undefeated against the Green Division as he takes on RockBass. 7. Zab (3-0, 9-3) What an impressive season so far for Zab! He’s gotten a 3-1 win over C0mp, a 3-2 win over MVParker, and a 3-0 win over RayC591. This week he looks to continue his sweep over the Orange division when he takes on Bytes. 8. Wwlos (3-0, 9-4) Sometimes it can take a few weeks to adjust to the THL format and meta. Other times someone just comes in and adapts right away. Wwlos is definitely the latter. With 3-1 wins over HectorHowl and Imbolc and a 3-2 win over Dunamis, it’s a fantastic start to a rookie season. This week is a tough challenge as they take on TonyMontana when Team Golden Wisp faces off against N.W.A. 9. Vendi (3-0, 9-4) Danger Zone is sitting at the top of Green and part of that success is because of their 1 seed, Vendi. Vendi has 3-1 wins over Thorsmash and Houdinii and a 3-2 win over Hambowen. This week he has a tough challenge in Slimsch as both look to remain undefeated before entering the last half of the season. 10. RogueJT (3-0, 6-3) Team Rank Five has been nothing short of dominant this season. RogueJT is the third member of the team to be on this list and undefeated on the season. He’s gotten a 3-1 win over Ziggysera, a 3-2 win over Zabger, and a DQ victory over DayDr3am. This week he faces off against Grim.
