THL Hall of Fame: Legacy Series (6th Class)

*This was the class of August 2020*

​The following process and criteria was used to identify HoF Inductees:
To be considered eligible, one must have participated for at least 5 seasons in Legacy Series as either a player, a captain, or a consistent contributor to THL operations or content.

A selection committee of 9 community members was formed, and the community as a whole submitted nominations to be considered. Guidelines for selection include but are not limited to:

• A distinguished record of competitive achievement during Series play, with consideration given to win/loss record, game record, postseason play, All Star selections, and season awards earned. Consideration was also given to integrity, sportsmanship, and character.
• A distinguished record of competitive team achievement as a captain during Series play, with consideration given to win/loss record, number of playoff appearances, division titles won, championships won, and captain awards earned. Consideration was again also given to integrity, sportsmanship, and character.
• Exceptional contributions that have furthered the growth, reputation, and character of the organization, in categories such as administration, content creation, and casting.

Bearing that in mind, the time has come to present to you our fourth class of Legacy Series Inductees:

As a member of the Hall of Fame committee, it is my privilege and pleasure to induct MemyselfandI aka MMI into the THL Hall of Fame. I got my start in THL back in Season 5 of Legacy with MMI, and he has always been an overachiever. MMI tried harder than anyone else I've ever played with to not just win his own matches, but help everyone else win theirs as well. MMI was a longtime staple of Hearthstone Academy, and helped carry the team to 2 Championships as well as coached from the bench during the seasons he didn't play. It is because of his sporadic seasonal appearances that it has taken him so long to get his fifth season and meet the requirements for nomination. About every other season someone on the HoF committee would inquire about why he hadn't been nominated yet, forgetting MMI only had 4 seasons played. Well he finally came back and got his fifth season under his belt, and now sits at a phenomenal 71.15% winrate. MMI's standards for success are unparalleled in THL, and he will live on as a legend in the Hall of Fame for his efforts. MMI has no future plans to play again as of my writing this so MMI I just want you to know I wish you the best of luck in all your future endeavors and congrats again on all you have accomplished in THL! "Avi has an exceptional 64.71% lifetime winrate without a single championship, but this fact struggles to fully encapsulate the greatness of his genius and care. When I first met him in college, I could tell even from a distance that he put thought into everything that he did. After learning how quickly he gained a reputation from the older students in our college's HS scene, I soon set my sights trying to beat him, and it took becoming his teammate for Tespa to realize that the thought and care he strived to put into his decks was also thoroughly put into everyone lucky enough to call him a friend. For many, including myself, Aviously is the reason for their introduction into THL and the HS community at large, and for many more, he is the catalyst for fantastic growth as both players and people. I think the most important growth I managed in my 7+-year hearthstone career came during the time when I strived to be his equal, something he already said I was. It took me a long time to realize, but what makes him the best wasn't just how good he did, but how he was able to make everyone around him better and better himself simultaneously. Avi is adaptive, innovative, hilarious, personable, respectful, and dedicated to whatever he puts his mind to. I can't think of a better person to deserve this honor.
