Sylvanas 7 Team Reveal: Team Black Lotus

Get ready for Ragnaros Season 10 and Sylvanas Season 7 with our week-long series of team reveals!  We'll be revealing one team each day leading up to the grand stream reveal on Tavern Talk.  Remember to tune in to Twitch on Thursday (Ragnaros)  8/23 and Friday (Sylvanas) 8/24 to see the remaining teams and division assignments.  Today is our next Sylvanas reveal: Team Black Lotus captained by Force of Will and written by JerryDamage!

We continue our reveals as we go back to the Sylvanas league. We speak with veteran captain ForceofWill to see what this season’s Team Black Lotus will look like.

What made you want to return as a captain for Season 7?

ForceofWill: I enjoy everything THL has to offer and I love getting a group of players together to compete. I want the league to grow and expand and I think being a captain helps with that.

Over the years we’ve seen a variety of strategies for team construction. What strategy did you use when building your team this season?


ForceofWill: I wanted to retain the players that I could from last season and bolster our team with some of the newer names in the league. Last season, we had Twizz and Davpetm make All-Stars in Sylvanas League and Bonja make All-Stars in Ragnaros league. I'm happy to say that they will be returning to their respective teams this season. Appa had a tough season last season in Ragnaros League, but I know that he loves the game and has a great mind for the game and he is playing for both my teams this season. This means that I needed a strong 2 seed in both leagues and a 5 seed to replace DocMcButt in Ragnaros League. I think I found two incredibly strong players for 2 seeds on each team. We also brought in a new player in the 5 seed who is showing a lot of promise.


Who’s your first player?


ForceofWill: Twizz was a superstar for our team last season. He had a 5-1 record and was the Sylvanas All-Star for Blue/Purple conference. Twizz is also a well known Hearthstone player having competed in several tournaments, including the first Global Games where he represented Australia. I have no doubt that Twizz will continue to kill it as the one seed this season.


Who’s your second player?


ForceofWill: I believe this is Sazuru's first season in Sylvanas League, but he has quite a history in the league already. He joined Team Next Level in Ragnaros League last season and was a big part of their championship win. I have no doubt he will do a great job In Sylvanas League as well as our 2 seed.


Who is your next player?


ForceofWill: Appa is one of the hosts of Coin Concede. He had a rough season in Ragnaros League last season as the 2 seed for most of the season, but I believe he is a perfect fit for the 3 seed. He also has a history in playing Last Hero Standing as I believe he was in a win and in situation at a Dreamhack in the past couple years. He has told me that LHS is his favorite format. He has a great knowledge and understanding of the game and is hitting legend every month. I'm sure he will be great in the 3 seed. Here’s a list of some of his stats:

Who’s your 4 seed?


ForceofWill: Last season was my first winning season after playing in Sylvanas League for 5.5 seasons. I was also Comeback Player runner up last season in Sylvanas League Season 6. THL has definitely improved my skill in Hearthstone and I have noticed is with winning records in the last two seasons of Ragnaros League as well. I hope that I can put together a strong season to help support the other great players on my team.


And who do you have as the 5 seed?


ForceofWill: Davpetm has been one of the strongest players in both leagues. Last season, he was the 5 seed Sylvanas All-Star for Blue/Purple Conference. He was also the runner up for Crossover Player between Ragnaros and Sylvanas League last season. He went 5-2 last season and I expect for him to have another big season this season as well.


Any final comments as your guys gear up for Sylvanas Season 7?

ForceofWill: I think Team Black Lotus is going to be amazing this season. With two returning All-Stars, a Championship winning 2 seed, an every month legend player with a history of doing well in LHS, and myself, I think we have pulled together one of the strongest teams in Sylvanas League this season. I definitely expect some great things from our team this year.
