Jerry Damage breaks down the final week of regular season play in Sylvanas League. With 13 teams fighting for 8 spots, it'll be a wild ride to the finish! It’s here. This is the last week of the regular season for Sylvanas Season 6. This may be one of the closest playoff races that I’ve seen in a long long time. We’ve got 8 playoff spots and 13 teams who have a shot at making the post season. So let’s take a look at this last week to see what kind of drama we can expect to unfold.
First, let’s look at who’s out. Team TRYHARD - Currently sitting at 57 points on the season, Team TRYHARD is one of the few teams who’s mathematically eliminated from the playoffs as they are 27 points behind the last wildcard spot in Blue/Purple. This week they face the top points earner for Sylvanis in Toki Tinker Fan Club. Booty Sweat – The Season 5 champions will not repeat. They are currently 21 points out of the wildcard race for Yellow/Red. This week the face a team hoping to make the playoffs in Xplosive Sheep. Team Next Level – TNL will not make another run at a title this season. They are 34 points outside of the last wildcard spot and are mathematically eliminated from consideration. This week they take on Tan Pam’s Surf Slam. So we know those teams are out. Who’s definitely in? Toki Tinker Fan Club – Sitting at 109 points on the season, TTFC has all but locked up the blue division. They are 17 points ahead of the next closest team and 14 points ahead of anyone else in the conference. Short of an epic meltdown this week against Team TRYHARD, it’s safe to say that Toki Tinker has secured a spot in the playoffs, if not all but locked up the Blue division. And that’s the only team I can safely say has secured their spot. There’s a few other teams that are likely to make the playoffs, but their place in the playoffs are all but decided. Let’s go through each division to see how these races are shaping up. Purple DadLegend – DadLegend currently leads Purple with 95 points. They have an 11 point lead over the next closest team and a 3 point lead over the next closest team in the conference. It’s a nice lead but one that’s not entirely safe as they take on TapLast this week, and when TapLast brings the memes, it’s hard to say how many points you’ll get that week. The Ugly Mucklings – With 84 points, the Mucklings are currently 11 points behind DadLegend for the Purple Division title and 2 points ahead in the race for the last Wildcard spot. This week they need to maximize their points to secure their spot when they take on Team Black Lotus. Big Deck Bandits – At 74 points on the season, the team with the biggest decks are 10 points outside of the last Wildcard spot. If BDB wants to make the playoffs, they’ll need a big week this week as they take on a team looking to lock up their wildcard spot, Hero Power Rangers. Blue Hero Power Rangers – HPR has 92 points on the season and are currently 17 points behind Toki Tinker Fan Club for the Blue division. The blue division title may be a tough thing to get, but a Wildcard spot is within their reach. They are 8 points above the next team in the Wildcard race. This week they take on another team looking to make a push for the playoffs, Big Deck Bandits. TapLast – TapLast is right in the thick of it. They are 27 points behind Toki Tinker so they can’t reach them to take the Blue division title. But they are 2 points outside of the last Wildcard spot. That’s incredibly close. This week they need a good showing against DadLegend in order to lock up that last spot. Team Black Lotus – At 78 points on the season, Black Lotus are 6 points out of the last Wildcard spot. They are actually playing the team who currently hold the last Wildcard spot so they are in a unique position where they can gain points and deny their opponent them in order to help close the gap for the last spot in the playoffs. Yellow 65,340,285 Boars – At 105 points, the Boars are in the playoffs. The question is where will they be seeded. They are only 3 points above the team who’s in second in the yellow division. So while they likely have a spot locked up, it’s unclear which seed that spot will be in. This week they take on Kawasaki Ninjas Rule as they look to secure the top seed in the Red/Yellow division. Argent Terminus Legion – ATL are right in the hunt for the Yellow division title and the top seed in the Yellow/Red conference. They are only 3 points behind the Boars for that spot. They are 13 points ahead of the next team for a Wildcard spot, so short of a horrible week, they are in the playoffs, it’s just a matter of where they end up seeded. This week they play The Fearless Hearth in a battle of two teams who are both looking to win their division. Tan Pam’s Surf Slam – TPSS is currently in the last Wildcard spot with 89 points. But they have some teams looking to take that from them. They next closest team to them is The Fearless Hearth who they only have a 1 point lead on. It’s possible that they could go from in the Wildcard spot to out of it should The Fearless Hearth lose the Red Division title but still score more than TPSS. They need to have a good week this week against Team Next Level in order to lock up their spot in the playoffs. Xplosive Sheep – The former SHL champions are in the hunt for the last Wildcard spot. With 84 points they are 5 points behind Tan Pam’s Surf Slam. With a good week, they could close that gap and secure their spot in the playoffs. This week they take on Booty Sweat. Red The Fearless Hearth – At 88 points, The Fearless Hearth currently are at the top of the Red division. But it’s anything but locked up. They are 6 points ahead of Kawasaki Ninjas Rule for the Red division title. They are then 1 point behind Tan Pam’s Surf Slam for the last Wildcard spot. Red will likely only send 1 team to the playoffs so locking up the Red division title will be huge as it’s the only way to guarantee a spot in the playoffs. This week they take on Argent Terminus Legion as both teams are trying to lock up their divisions. Kawasaki Ninjas Rule – KNR are in the hunt for the playoffs. They have 82 points which is 6 points behind The Fearless Hearth for the Red division and 7 points behind Tan Pam’s Surf Slam for the last Wildcard spot. This week they have a challenge ahead of them as they take on the Boars. This has the makings of a wild finish to this season. Want to hear a crazy scenario? It’s possible for the Yellow division to have 4 teams who could make the playoffs and someone actually outscore the Red division winner but miss out on the playoffs. There’s only 1 spot locked up so this week it’s really about who wants it more and who can put up the most points this week. I’ll close this article by wishing everyone the best of luck this week and look forward to some great series as we start the march to crown the Sylvanas Season 6 champion. Who’s flag will fly?
