RagX/Syl7 Team and Player Power Rankings - Week 3

JerryDamage, iCon and Donde are back to make you all mad again with some more rankings!

Ragnaros Team Power Rankings - iCon

1. ​HSA
   The rising stars of Red division, and THL as a whole, show no signs of stopping. They are undefeated going into week 4, which is even more impressive considering they’ve handily beaten ATL and DMB, two strong teams on paper.
2. Xnergy
   X is truly gonna give it to ya. Dexter and his murder machine Inposition don’t look like they’re slowing down as their team is the one of 3 teams in Ragnaros to boast a 3-0 scoreline currently.
3. Mayhem
   Boasting the 3rd highest point total in all of Ragnaros, this team finishes off our set of 3-0 teams and shows us that they’re exactly what we thought they’d be: a monstrously good, reliable Blue division leader.
4. Pod People
   Welcome to the Pod People show. Seemingly out of nowhere, this Purple division team that we initially rated quite low is now sporting a 2-0-1 match score, with a tie to the once-formidable Saronite Pain Gang week 3.
5. Cabal
   The highest point total team of the 2-1s backed up a certain author of this article’s trash talk on Tavern Talk last week regarding Team Mox, and the subsequent 4-1 scoreline. It remains to be seen if the Cabal will continue their 4-1 “practice sessions” against Red-Gold teams, or if HSA can teach them a lesson in humility going into week 4.
6. DMB
   A strong team on paper that unfortunately fell out of nowhere to Defias Brotherhood, Durty Mike and his Boys are just on the cusp of top 4 territory. They’re facing a big challenge ahead with a week 4 match against Xnergy.
7. MSI
   Another surprise frontrunner this season, MSI’s Canadian crack squad took a tough loss to the current final boss of Blue division, Collective Mayhem. Don’t count this team out, though. Nated may still prove me right and continue going absolutely ham on every 3 seed out there.
8. Noob Central
   A surprise move-up into the 2-1 zone, Noob Central absolutely decimated AskHS week 3 with a 4-1 match scoreline. With ATL and Durty Mike’s Boys on the horizon, the question remains: can the Noobs continue to level up?
9. AP4K
   AP4K is a team that started off strong and came to a crashing halt this week. Upset team of the early season Really Nice Guys took a 4-1 win against the Peckers week 3, with sweeps in the 1 and 4 seeds to boot.
10. RNG
    The aforementioned upset kings of the early season, RNG’s wins vs DadLegend and AP4K round them out at the 10 spot on our week 3 rankings list.

 Sylvanas Team Power Rankings - Jerry

1. Cult of Mecha’thun
   From worst to first. A team that we ranked at the bottom of the pre-season rankings has proven that they are a team here to compete. With wins over Team Black Lotus, The Ugly Mucklings, and Eon, this team has shown that they are one of the best teams in Sylvanas. This week they take on a team who’s struggled this season, The Boars.
   
   
2. Bomb Voyage
   Like the Cult, Bomb Voyage was another team that we had ranked low in the pre-season rankings. And like Cult, Bomb Voyage has shown that they are a team that’s here to compete. Last week they faced their toughest match yet when they took on the Faithless Lumi. And the result was a tie 14-14. Should a rematch happen in the playoffs that would be a lot of hype to see which team can beat the other. This week they face off against ATL.
   
   
3. Faithless Lumi
   Last week the Lumi had their toughest challenge against the number 2 ranked team in Bomb Voyage. And as I mentioned above, they took each other to a 14-14 tie. This week the Lumi look to get back in the win column as they take on DadLegend.
   
   
4. Tan Pam’s Surf Slam
   Tan Pam’s Surf Slam had been looking very good this season. Last week they suffered their first loss of the season when they lost to DadLegend 11-17. This week they look to rebound from that loss as they take on Hero Power Rangers.
   
   
5. Big Deck Bandits
   The team with the biggest decks are off to a great start this season. They are 2-0-1 with that tie to another top 10 team. This week they face their biggest challenge of the season when they face Smells like Steam Spirit.
   
   
6. Tap Last
   Tap Last lost to Tan Pam’s Surf Slam week 1. Since then they’ve gotten 2 consecutive wins over Hero Power Rangers and The Fearless Hearth. This week they take on Black Ops Elves to see if they can make it 3 in a row.
   
   
7. The Insomniacs
   The Insomniacs are trending in the right direction. They started off with a loss to Floop’s Bloop’s Gloops. Then they took the Big Deck Bandits to a tie. And then last week they handed Smells Like Steam Spirit their first loss of the season. This week they take on Team Black Lotus.
   
   
8. The Ugly Mucklings
   The Mucklings rebounded from their first loss of the season by defeating Xplosive Sheep in Week 3. This week they look to continue that as they take on Red division rival Floop’s Bloop’s Gloops.
   
   
9. Smells like Steam Spirit
   Smells like Steam Spirit suffered their first loss of the season in a very close match against the Insomniacs, 13-17. This week they have another tough test though as they take on the Big Deck Bandits.
   
   
10. Xplosive Sheep
    The Sheep may be 1-2, but they are putting up solid points in their losses and are quietly hanging around the wild card race. This week they look to get back in the win column when they take on Eon.

Ragnaros League Player Rankings - Donde


We're down to 16 as we lost 10 previously undefeated players. Yet again, this is not a true power ranking as you will see that next week. This would be a good time to mention that there will be a Player Ranking and Fantasy Start 'em/Sit 'em THL stream every week on Tuesdays starting next week! The crew bringing you the hot takes each week will be myself, Jammies and Markshire. We'll be following up pirate radio each week.

Assorted Thoughts


Anyone in the one seed still undefeated is earning it. The field is stacked up there and I can tell you from experience (getting rekt) that it's tough sledding. Itachi and RidiculousHat leading the way with a crazy 90% game win record.

Edelweiss still has a totally clean record at 6-0 after two weeks of games. Nated4444 is now a two seed after making his hay in the 3 slot. That could change the two seed dynamic.

TwoStarMako is making a strong case for Rookie of the Year (I mean, we're not counting the like two games he played last season right?).

The four seed has been surprisingly stacked. It's in flux a bit as we often see some turnover with power five's jumping up to contend. That being said, all three who remain unblemished are looking solid.

Both Skritch and TheChronic are setting the 5 seed slot on fire, though Skritch might soon be moving up to the four. Especially considering as of this writing, he just moved to 4-0.

Sylvanas Player Rankings - Donde

There are even fewer remaining undefeated players in Sylvanas as the count is now 13 (two 1-0 players notwithstanding).

Assorted Thoughts


As you can see, Sylvanas is a bit top heavy with 5 one seeds undefeated and only 4 total players undefeated from seed three to five.

Inposition now remains as the only player to be 6-0 across Ragnaros and Sylvanas combined.

Billsnyder is the only player completely unblemished at 9-0 and that goes for both leagues.

I believe The_bigted to be a rookie this season (no stats on the Sylvanas lifetime page). If that's the case, he's looking like a strong contender for Sylv rookie of the year.

The Veebs stands alone as the only 5 seed still undefeated. I didn't actually have more to add, I just wanted to use the wordplay I thought of.
