Ragnaros Team Power Rankings

You know what, the Pikachu stays.

What a first few weeks it’s been.  As of right now we have 6 teams undefeated in Ragnaros.  This week we have some big matches between top 10 teams so next week we should start to get a clearer picture of things as we start to see how some of these teams perform against each other.  


Top 10 Team Rankings

1. HearthStone Academy (Red, 41 points)
   HSA has made a statement in their first two weeks.  They looked great against Dirty Mike and the Boys in Week 1.  Then followed up with the league’s only 23 point week so far when they played against Team Mox.  This week they have another big challenge when they take on Always Topdeck Lethal.
   
   
2. Xnergy (Gold, 42 points)
   Before the season we joked and asked if this was a season for X to give it to us.  And the answer so far has been, yes. Xnergy has the most points in the league at 42 and has wins over AskHS and Noob Central.  This week they look to continue their winning ways as they take on Da Stubbs.
   
   
3. Maple Syrup, Inc.  (Blue, 39 points)
   One of THL’s few international teams, Maple Syrup Inc are off to a hot start.  They had several roster changes but the new lineup is averaging almost 20 points a week right now with wins over Glitter Baes and DadLegend.  This week they face their biggest challenge so far when they take on blue division rival, Collective Mayhem.
   
   
4. The Pod People (Purple, 39 points)
   The Pod People are really good at two things, making podcasts and playing Hearthstone.  They are averaging almost 20 points a week and have wins over Hot Pepper and defending champions, Team Next Level.  This week look to continue their win streak as they take on Saronite Pain Gang.
   
   
5. Dirty Mike and the Boys (Gold, 31 points)
   Dirty Mike and the Boys have had a tough few weeks.  Week 1 they lost to HearthStone Academy, but managed to put up 10 points in the loss.  Then Week 2 they got a big win over the Cabal with a 21 point effort. This week they take on a team looking to break into the top 10 in the Defias Brotherhood.
   
   
6. Collective Mayhem (Blue, 38 points)
   Collective Mayhem is a team I had highly ranked in the pre-season rankings and so far they are showing why.  They are undefeated with wins over Saronite Pain Gang and Really Nice Guys. This week they have their toughest match of the season this far, when they take on Maple Syrup Inc.
   
   
7. Auto Pecker 4000 (Blue, 36 points)
   AP4K are showing why we should fear robot chickens.  They are undefeated with wins over Team Next Level and Saronite Pain Gang.  This week they look to continuing their Blurple win streak as they take on Really Nice Guys.
   
   
8. The Cabal  (Red, 31 points)
   The Cabal got off to a great start with a win over Da Stubbs.  Week 2 however they struggled in their matchup with Dirty Mike and the Boys.  This week they look to rebound as they take on Team Mox.
   
   
9. Always Topdeck Lethal  (Red, 32 points)
   ATL was one of the hottest teams in the league at the end of last season.  So far in Season 10 they are picking right back up where they left off. They have a win over Team Mox and then followed that up with a loss to AskHS.  This week they have their toughest challenge of the season when they take on HearthStone Academy.
   
   
10. Glitter Baes  (Blue, 28 points)
    The Glitter Baes were a team we weren’t sure about in the pre-season rankings.  However so far they are showing us that they are playing some good Hearthstone this season.  Week 1 they lost to Maple Syrup, Inc. But Week 2 they rebounded with a very solid win over Hot Pepper.  This week they look to build on that momentum as they take on DadLegend.

Sylvanas Team Power Rankings

Well, I’m glad that we wrote the Pre-Season Power Rankings in pencil as some of our projections were very wrong.  Purple was thought to perhaps be the strongest conference but after 2 weeks it could be at the bottom. Two of the teams we had the biggest questions about, are two of the hottest teams in the league.  So let’s get into our first top 10 list for Season 10.

Top 10 Team Rankings

1. Tan Pam’s Surf Slam (Purple, 40 points)
   Leading the league in points, Tan Pam’s Surf Slam has taken an early lead on the Purple division.  Averaging 20 points a week, Tan Pam has also gotten victories over 2 top 10 teams. They currently have a 13 point lead over the next team in Purple.  This week they take on DadLegend, a team that was hyped up in the pre-season but has found themselves at the bottom of the Purple division over the first 2 weeks.
   
   
2. Faithless Lumi (Blue, 36 points)
   The Faithless Lumi were very high on our pre-season rankings and they are living up to the hype.  Two weeks into the season and they have performed as we’d expected by winning both series. Last week they did lose 2 matches to Black Ops Elves but both series were close as they both went to game 5.  This week the Lumi face their biggest challenge when they take on Bomb Voyage.
   
   
3. Smells Like Steam Spirit (Red, 35 points)
   When we first looked at Red, we looked past Steam Spirit.  We shouldn’t have as they are proving to be a force in the Red Division.  Week 1 they got a solid win over Xplosive Sheep. They followed that up with an impressive win over Floop’s Gloop’s Bloops.  This week they take on The Insomniacs.
   
   
4. Bomb Voyage (Blue, 40 points)
   Bomb Voyage was ranked at the bottom of the pre-season rankings.  We just didn’t know a lot about them and had a lot of questions. Well, those questions are answered and Bomb Voyage has literally exploded on the scene.  They are tied for the highest points in the league and have wins over Black Ops Evles and DadLegend. This week they face their biggest challenge so far when they face off against Faithless Lumi.
   
   
5. Cult of Mecha’thun (Yellow, 36 points)
   Like Bomb Voyage, the Cult were ranked at the bottom of the pre-season rankings.  But also like Bomb Voyage, the Cult of Mecha’thun have proven to be a force to be reckoned with.  Week 1 they beat a pre-season top 5 team in Team Black Lotus. Then they followed that up by defeating the Ugly Mucklings in 4 out of the 5 matches.  This week they take on Eon.
   
   
6. The Ugly Mucklings (Red, 23 points)
   The Mucklings were ranked number 1 in the pre-season rankings.  Week 1 they defeated the defending Sylvanas league champions, the Boars.  Week 2 however they ran into the Cult of Mecha’thun and fell short. This week the Mucklings take on Xplosive Sheep as they look to rebound from their first loss.
   
   
7. Floop’s Gloop’s Bloops (Red, 27 points)
   Now in their 3rd season, the Bloops have not only had one of the best names each season, but been one of the best performing teams over the last 2 seasons, winning the Season 5 championship and making the finals in Season 6.  This season they are off to another good start. Week 1 they defeated the Insomniacs. Week 2 they ran into some players who Smelled like Steam Spirit. This week they take on Team Black Lotus.
   
   
8. AskHS (Purple, 26 points)
   AskHS has gotten off to a good start in their debut season.  Week 1 they got a strong start by defeating DadLegend. Week 2 however they ran into the top team in our rankings this week, Tan Pam’s Surf Slam.  This week they add the giant slayer, Tri to their team as they take on Hero Power Rangers.
   
   
9. Tap Last (Blue, 28 points)
   Tap Last had a tough opening week as they fell to Tan Pam’s Surf Slam.  Week 2 however they responded very well with a big win over Hero Power Rangers.  This week they look to continue that momentum as they take on The Fearless Hearth.
   
   
10. Hero Power Rangers (Purple, 23 points)
    Hero Power Rangers had a great week 1 as they defeated ATL.  Week 2 they struggled against Tap Last. This week they look to rebound as they take on Tap Last.

Ragnaros League Player Rankings

The full player rankings will begin in earnest after week 4.  Right now, there just isn’t enough data to make informed decisions. We have 26 players who are currently undefeated and rather than evaluate each and every one of them, I wanted to highlight a few of the fantastic early season stories.  If you’re not listed here, that doesn’t mean you’re bad! Likewise, the order here is not an actual power ranking yet.

The Flawless:

Itachi 2-0 (6-0)
Edelweiss 1-0 (3-0)
MojoPowell 2-0 (6-0)

All three of these players haven’t dropped a single game yet.  Edelweiss only has one week under her belt but it was a sweep and for what it’s worth, her sub (who shall not be named but seriously though it’s Durden) swept yours truly in week 1.  So that’s an effective 6-0!
