Ragnaros X Team Reveal: The Glitter Baes

Today we continue our team reveals by looking at a new team. We learn all about the Glitter Baes as we speak with their captain Stephieee.

What made you want to become a captain this season?

Stephiee: I wanted to become a captain because I've been loving THL and the community. This will be my fourth season and I wanted to get even more involved so becoming a captain made sense. Plus we need more female captains.

Over the years we’ve seen a variety of strategies when building a team. What was your strategy as you formed your team this season?

Stephieee: A lot of it came down to people I wanted to play with. Originally, I knew I wanted to build a team with myself and Wolfmack. However, Bluesombrero was also a person I wanted to work with. Now, PR wise, this is an extremely top heavy team since Mack is 550 PR, I'm 495 PR, and Blue is 492 PR. This does mean my three seed has a PR of 492. Blue suggested ArcaneTHL for the 4 seed as a steal with a PR of 189. And I knew that DocMcButt would be a perfect fit for the 5 seed with a very misleading 50 PR. I'm interested to see how this team will perform because our PR balance is definitely off compared to typical teams. However, I am so excited to work with people who I am friends with and feel will perform really well this season. I know that we will all work together really well together.

Tell me about your first player.

Stephieee: One Seed: WolfMack. He has PR of 550. He's played in 3 seasons with a 70% winrate (21 wins and 9 losses). He didn't play last season, but season 8 he was the captain of the Spicy Boys who were the Rag champions. I would argue that WolfMack is one of the best players in THL. I am so excited to have him on my team simply because I know that all of us can learn from him. He's reliable, extremely intelligent, and a nice person to have around. Some would argue that he is pretty hot, too.

Stephieee: I’m glad you get it.

Tell me about your second player.

Stephieee: Two Seed: Stephieee. So that's me. I have a PR of 495. I've also played in 3 seasons with a 62% winrate (18 wins and 11 losses). Last season I was on VoNC, which was the team who was undefeated until the finals. Unfortunately we lost in the finals but we were still extremely badass. I'm also a co-host for Tavern Talk and dabble in casting. I like to think I'm a good HS player and I love leading, so it makes sense for me to attempt being a captain so I can boss my teammates around. I'm driven, hardworking, and I'm dating Wolfmack, which means I'm pretty hot, too.

Who’s your next player?

Stephieee: Three Seed: bluesombrero. He has a PR of 492. He's played in 4 seasons with a 63% winrate (22 wins and 13 losses). Rag season 6, he joined HSA halfway through the season and the team ended up being the Rag champions (obviously because they took on bbyblueee). I adore bbyblue. He is one of the THL babies and also one of the most skilled players in the league. He is outgoing, eager to practice, and willing to help those around him. He is a player I've wanted to work with since I joined THL and I can't wait to be on a team with him this season. Many would say he is a hot commodity.

So with your first 3 players coming in at almost 500 PR each, PR management of the 4 and 5 seeds was pretty crucial. Who is playing for you as the 4 seed?

Stephieee: I agree. The team started out with myself, WolfMack, and bluesombrero so deciding on the last two seeds COULD have been tricky. Babyblue actually suggested who our 4 seed should be and I'm pretty happy I trusted his instinct.
Four Seed: ArcaneTHL. He has a PR of 189. He's played in 7 seasons with a 41% winrate (25 wins and 36 losses). Arcane is the most experienced out of all of us in terms of being in THL; 7 seasons is a lot! He's told me that in past seasons he has made it to the semi finals. I'm still getting to know Arcane but what I can tell is that he is SO friendly and excited for this season. He's very chatty and loves to interact with the team, which I love! Don't let the 189 PR fool you, Arcane can perform and is ready to show everyone what he is made of this season. I can't wait to continue to work with him. All I can say is hot diggity dog.


And who did you get to round out your team?

Stephieee: My favorite doctor, Five Seed: DocMcButt. He has a PR of 50. He's played in 5 seasons with a 34% winrate (15 wins and 29 losses). DocMcButt has made it to the semifinals while he was on Swagoi's team. Here's the thing, McButt is sitting at 50 PR but his abilities are beyond that. He is also a Big Deck Bandit like myself and was the only person I considered for my 5 seed. He is probably the nicest person you'll ever meet and he wants to learn and perform. He also has a good history of beating players with PRs much higher than his. I promise you that DocMcButt will drop his opponents, like it's hot.

Any final comments as we head into the season?

Stephieee: I'm so appreciative that I am able to be a captain this season. I truly believe my team will perform and make it rain glitter all over our opponents; we plan on winning. Honestly, though, I'm very lucky to be able to work with four great guys who will help each other, and myself, become even better players.
