Ragnaros X Team Reveal: Team Next Level

Today we continue our team reveals by looking at the Ragnaros Season 9 champions, Team Next Level. We speak to their captain Jammies to see what their team looks like for Season 10.

What made you want to return as a captain for Season 10?

Jammies: To prove we can be back to back champs.

Winning the championship is a tough thing to do, let alone to go through the road that you guys went to win it for Season 9. You guys obviously had a winning formula for team construction. How did you go about building your team for this season to try to repeat?

Jammies: I know we have a special roster right now. I tried keeping as much of the team as I could. Unfortunately Altenberg and Diamond couldn't make the team this year so we had to get some solid replacements. We went out and got Saku. I'm confident in his abilities because he's been on the Next Level Sylvanas team for a couple of seasons. We also got newcomer gio. He's active in discord and likes to play with deck techs and off-meta archetypes, so he fits the mold of our team very well.

So tell me about your first player.

Jammies: Most people probably know Tri (aka THE GIANT SLAYER) by now. He's won a number of tournaments including some within THL. He actually won a Challenger cup tournament yesterday. He's a great teammate as well. He's always looking to help, practice or co-op with the rest of the team. I wouldn't have anyone else at the 1 seed.

Who’s your second player?

Jammies: Sazuru is our 2 seed. He took over for us last season half way and has been great ever since. He also played some tough competition and yet went undefeated in the playoffs. Sazuru likes to get a little off-meta when it comes to deck building, or putting in some interesting techs. However, he has incredible game sense and is a methodical player. Anyone playing him should be worried about getting outplayed before the game even starts.

Who’s your next player?

Jammies: Our third seed is yours truly. This is my 3rd season as Ragnaros captain and fifth season in THL. I'm a laid back guy and I translate that to the way I lead my team. I let my teammates decide what they want to play (for the most part). I trust the people on my team because I know they're good players. I don't doubt my ability as a Hearthstoner and won't turn down a challenge from anyone. I consider myself a methodical player. My favorite part of the game is figuring out the plays that maximize my chance to win the game. To be honest, I feel like any of our top 3 could be seeded as the 1 and we'd do great regardless.

Who do you have as the 4 seed?

Jammies: Gio is our 4 seed. To be honest, I don't know much about him. I talked a little about him before and that's most of what I know.

Hard to do prep on an opponent when he’s even a mystery to his own captain.

Who’s your final player?

Jammies: Our last player is none other than Saku. He has many nicknames: nicest guy in THL, Big Game Hunter, Paintball King (and they're all true). I've known Saku for a while now since he and I were teammates in SHL when we both started playing in THL. Saku is probably, PR for PR, the most valuable player in THL. I'm confident Saku will step up to the plate and be ready to compete for a championship.

Any final comments as you guys head into Season 10?

Jammies: Really looking forward to 3 things:
1) All the new teams and players
2) Casters doubting us all the way to the championship
3) Winning it all back-to-back
