Ragnaros X Team Reveal: AskHS

​Get ready for Ragnaros Season 10 and Sylvanas Season 7 with our week-long series of team reveals!  We'll be revealing one team each day leading up to the grand stream reveal on Tavern Talk.  Remember to tune in to Twitch on Thursday (Ragnaros)  8/23 and Friday (Sylvanas) 8/24 to see the remaining teams and division assignments.  Today is our next Ragnaros reveal: AskHS captained by Khell and written by JerryDamage!

We spoke to Khell before about his Sylvanas team for AskHS. Today we talk to him again to reveal his Ragnaros team, AskHS.

What made you want to be a captain for this season?

Khell: I wanted to get the AskHS guys together and involved in the league to show everyone that we don’t just give advice, we can run with the best of them.

Over the years we've seen several different strategies for how to build a team. As a first time captain, what was your strategy as you put together your teams?

Khell: My plan when building the teams was simple, get my AskHS teachers into the 1-3 seeds. Since coaching/advice is what we do at AskHS, from there it was just a matter of finding some lower PR players with a good attitude and willingness to learn. And I think I’ve accomplished that goal. 

Tell me about your first player.

Khell: So my 1 seed in Rag is Kanyebest. He’s a teacher over on AskHS and has a top 200 legend finish in standard under his belt. He’ll tell you he’s not that great of a player, but he’s actually very good.

Also one of my favorite names in THL.

Who is your second player?

Khell: Corbett. Corbett is one of the best players I know. He’s very calculated and takes his time to fully think out his turns. We have a running joke over on AskHS that he’s the “stats” guy. Because he always has relevant stats to whatever deck we happen to be talking about. He’s regularly high legend in wild every season. And hits legend in standard every month as well. He’s an admin for AskHS and a mod for Competitive Hearthstone.

Who’s your next player?

Khell: Niraj, he’s a teacher for AskHS and involved with CompHS as well. Recently he’s been playing in challenger cups and placing in the top 16 so it’s safe to say he’s a very good player. He hits legend every month and he’s also a very good deckbuilder.

Who is your 4 seed?

Khell: My next player is Dr. Dr8del. Dr8del is a dreamer, always coming up with awesome combos to try and pull off or dank memes to play. He reminds me so much of myself from 2 years ago. While we are trying to refine lists and hit legend, Dr8del is doing what this game is really all about, having fun!

Who is your 5 seed?

Khell: My final player is Aleister. He’s a regular student over on AskHS and is looking to learn and improve in competitive play. While I don’t know a ton about him I’m excited to get to know him over the course of the season!

Any closing comments as we head into your first Ragnaros Season?

Khell: I’m excited to see this team do well, we’ve got a great mix of players, and I feel our 1-3 seeds are stacked. With the help and support of the 1-3 seeds my 4-5 seeds are sure to shine this season as well.
