Hot off of his top8 finish at DreamHack, ironFIRE highlights the players still controlling the boar in Ragnaros League in this weeks Player Power Rankings!
This is where I’d normally say that it’s me, ironFIRE, here to give you updates on Ragnaros player rankings every two weeks and Sylvanas player rankings in the weeks in between, but that would be a lie since I missed last week. So hi, I’m ironFIRE, sometimes I move across the country and go to DreamHack in the same week and I don’t have time to write this thing. You’ll probably get rankings again in two weeks, but maybe you won’t. There are no guarantees in life. You’d best learn that now.
1. Brewski (5-0; 15-3) Thermic Whims
15-3. Guys, that’s crazy. Half the players in this league had 3 losses in week 1. It’s taken Brewski 5 weeks to catch up. The Whims face the top 3 teams in purple division their last 4 weeks; if Brewski remains undefeated through that gauntlet, he’ll cease to be a human and will transform into a GOAT.
2. IrvinG (4-0; 12-3) Defias Brotherhood
IrvinG stepped in as Defias Brotherhood’s 1 seed in week 2 of the season and has been tearing it up ever since. It’s a shame that S3NP4I was the team’s 1 seed the week they played Vote of No Confidence. We may never get to see an IrvinG vs. Rebobson or an IrvinG vs. Stephieee showdown. I’m rooting for Defias Brotherhood to make a playoff-qualifying comeback just so I can see that match.
3. rebobson (4-0; 12-4) Vote of No Confidence
If you want to know why there are so many 1 seeds in this top 10, I have some advice that will serve you well now and into the future: blame rebobson. This man used to be a 2 seed, but Stephieee let her guard down one week and now we all have to live with the consequences.
4. ironFIRE (5-0; 15-6) :hot_pepper:
All I’m going to say about myself is that I face Brewski tonight and I’m scared.
5. Cody (4-1; 13-6) DirtyMike & The Boys
Imagine if IrvinG lost 1-3 this week against bonja. His first 4 weeks were impressive enough for him to still get a seat at the top 10 table don’t you think? Enter Cody. Cody took a loss against 4-1 TheChronic in week 3, but with sweeps in 2 of his 5 matches, Cody finds himself with a game win percentage better than some undefeated players.
6. bonja (5-0; 15-7) Team Mox
bonja is undefeated at the moment, but with a match against IrvinG this week and a match against Vote of No Confidence’s 1 seed in two weeks, it’s a hard road ahead.
7. Kols (4-0; 12-6) Saronite Pain Gang
Kols had to get a sub in week 3 but has managed a W every week before and since. This week Kols faces HockeyBoyz3 of division leaders Vote of No Confidence. This is both teams’ biggest challenge yet, and it’s not clear who will come out on top.
8. Rizen (4-1; 14-7) Thermic Whims
Rizen is no longer the double undefeated powerhouse he was 2 weeks ago, but his 4-1 record is nothing to be scoffed at. He’s 1-3 across Ragnaros and Sylvanas leagues since the nerfs hit: will the new meta keep Rizen down or is this just a temporary hiccup?
9. c0mp (4-1; 14-7) Defias Brotherhood
Defias Brotherhood is 4th in the Red Division, but their 1 and 4 seeds are the top 10 players in the league. A similar thing happened with them last season; they didn’t make the playoffs, but if you sorted players in the league by win percentage, 3 members of the Brotherhood were in the top 20. c0mp has already surpassed their 4-5 record from last season, but the rest of the Brotherhood needs to finish strong for the team to have a chance at playoffs.
10. FollowDurden (4-1; 13-7) Collective Mayhem
How does Collective Mayhem lead the spiciest division with only one player in the top 10, you might ask? Well, I almost combined Markshire and his 3 week sub Edelweiss into a single 14-8 player and put them in the top 10, but that would have pushed out the team’s captain FollowDurden and that just didn’t seem right.
