Pro Series Week 6 Predictions

THL Pro Week 6 Predictions
Well, last week… happened. We saw all three of our undefeated teams fall (I only foresaw one). It turns out I do not need a nerf! I went 3-3 in last week’s predictions. Maybe I’ll flip a coin and save myself the time of looking over stats. Like I’ve said before, that’s no fun. I’m all about the fun here. This means I’ll also be developing a top 10 power rankings list for players! (ed note: Stepping on my toes I see!)  Expect it in the next article.

The Beard Boys (4-1, 95, 13.30) vs. Bad to the Bone (3-2, 78, 14.70)
In a turn of events that likely nobody, but Defias Protherhood, saw coming, The Beard Boys lost last week. I may have cursed them by predicting a sweep as Boozasaurus may claim. Or we may have a much tighter competition on our hands than the numbers may show. Last week, Bad to the Bone stepped up to prove they are one of the premier teams in this league and took down Taste The Rainbow. This is about to be one hell of a fight. How will the Beards respond to a knick in their perfect rim? Will Bad to the Bone be able to keep it rolling? Uh… fiercely and no, respectively. The Beard Boys keep growing with a 15-13 victory this week.

FTL (4-1, 89, 14.10) vs. Top-Hatted Titans (3-2, 68, 15.25)
FTL lost last week in the tightest match of the week coming down to a single point. Top-Hatted Titans are cruising in on the afterglow of a hard-fought win. Both of these teams are likely coming in with some newfound passion and about to bring some of their best games. Just looking at these numbers it may seem like an open and shut case that FTL will take it down this week, but I wouldn’t be surprised to see Top-Hatted Titans on top. I’ve still got to give it to FTL 14-10 this week.

Taste The Rainbow (4-1, 83, 12.00) vs. AEON (3-2, 77, 13.30)
The third previously undefeated team is Taste The Rainbow taking on AEON (a highly unpopular team if emojis mean anything). Taste The Rainbow has been highly critical of my opinions and rightfully so. I don’t buy the hype... yet. On the other side, AEON is really looking to improve their stock value (seriously no other team has a hatemoji). Call me a hater all you want, but you’ll have to prove that I’m wrong on the dance floor, folks. AEON is going to shake out a 14-12 win here.

The Unknown (3-2, 76, 15.40) vs. Tap Last (2-3, 69, 14.35) (Nice)
The Unknown pulled off an intense upset last week and is coming into another challenge that people may have been writing off. Tap Last has struggled to have their breakout week. This could very well be that week. It’s a little counter intuitive to break out by tyng your record up with your opponent, but its progress in inches. Tap Last for your sake I hope you start clawing your way up the leaderboards right here, but I’m the house and will be taking the best odds. The Unknown is a top contender for the playoffs and I think they’ll get the job done this week. The Unknown is going to win it 14-13.

The Menagerie (2-3, 67, 12.20) vs. Defias Protherhood (1-4, 48, 16.05)
The Menagerie squeaked out a win last week, but Defias Protherhood shocked everyone with a commanding win over The Beard Boys. The Menagerie’s roster had a large change with Dexter and Tris leaving the team to be replaced by SMORc and Dabs. Shoutout to my ex-teammates and welcome to my new ones. Defias Protherhood may have really found their footing in this format. They have the highest AOS and have now proven that they can really play. I don’t know how to evaluate this team anymore. Both of these teams are coming in completely transformed from last week, and I have no idea who is the favorite anymore. So I’ll let biasedinc take over and call The Menagerie winning it 15-10.

The Other Guys (1-4, 57, 15.05) vs. Pro-Pain Gang (0-5, 49, 15.50)
The Other Guys and Pro-Pain Gang have struggled to really establish any momentum. There are some very solid performances by single players on each of these teams, but it seems they just can’t all perform simultaneously. Both of these teams are hungry for a win after both losing by just 3 points last week. These teams are in so many similar positions coming into this week making it another tough match to call. I think this is Pro-Pain Gang’s week to get their first win. They won’t have to ask how long this can go on much longer. Pro-Pain Gang 15-14.

Dream Stream Matches

HonestZaib (4-0, The Beard Boys) vs. Aviously (4-1, Bad to the Bone)
A battle between two of some of the best players in THL in the first seed of what is surely going to be a tight contest. Expect some heart-pounding matches out of this one.

urmumked (5-0, Taste The Rainbow) vs. RidiculousHat (4-1, AEON)
urmumked is the only player at 5 wins and that is always a recipe to receive a highlight. Compound that with the intense match we’re about to see between TTR and AEON and the pilot on the other side of the table RHat and we’ll definitely see some cards fly in this one.

Dusharmo (4-1, The Unknown) vs. CmaccompH (3-1, Tap Last)
Another clash of titans! We are very spoiled this week. How many ways can I say this game would give me that good adrenaline hit watching?

Closing Words
Let me start this out by addressing last week. Pro is still wide open. This is the middle week of the season and our last team in the standings nearly swept the first team in the standings. The teams in this format are on deceptively equal footing. We have no idea how this will end just yet. I am likely also taking a hiatus from writing for the rest of the month as I am moving and will be spending more of my free time doing that and with family. I will see if I can manage an article next week, but it is the first thing I will cut if I need to.

Now I want to address some personal stuff. So hop off here or after the next sentence if you would like. I am a trans woman.

I use she/her pronouns but have not yet physically transitioned. Job stability, etc. This is largely unimportant to THL, but I feel a part of it needs direct addressing. I love this community and would love to be my genuine self here. This is only relevant because I would really love to assist in commentary and talk shows when I’m able. I’d really appreciate it if my voice was a non-issue. This community has already proven how rad they are in just the last week about this so I am not worried. I appreciate everything y’all have done to accommodate me already. However, if this is a problem for you to use she/her pronouns I have two options for you. 1 They/them pronouns. 2 Do not refer to me.
