Welcome to the playoffs! Congratulations to all that navigated their way through the schedule to find themselves in contention for every Hearthstone player’s ultimate goal, a THL Championship! The playoffs kick off this week for pro, hero and legacy series with every match from here on in seeing the loser eliminated. But which teams have what it takes to win the title? POWBOT has been analyzing every match during the season, offering predictions on which teams are most likely to make the playoffs. Using this data POWBOT will predict (with 99.3% accuracy) the results of each week’s matches throughout the playoffs. Shall we take a look at who will be progressing on to week 2? Pro Series Playoffs for the Pro series pits the top 4 teams from pink conference against the top 4 teams from black conference. The 1 seed from each conference will play the 4 seed from the opposite conference. The 2 seed from each conference will play the 3 seed from the opposite conference. Let’s see the matchups for this week and POWBOT’s predictions. POWBOT predicts Clowns Reloaded to progress with a score of 18-10. Clowns Reloaded dominated the Black Conference only losing once during the season, while NPH limped into the finals with a sub 50% game win rate. POWBOT predicts Popeyes Spicy Chicken Sandwich to progress with a score of 15-14. This is a close contest where any of the 5 matches could go to either team. Both teams ended the season with a run of good form, expect this to come down to the final match. POWBOT predicts Everyone’s a Winner! to progress with a score of 15-14. After starting 0-2, Everyone's a Winner! went on an impressive run, only losing to top seed Clowns Reloaded in a tight contest. Brushy Tuna went into the last round undefeated, though most of their results were 3-2 wins, suffering a resounding 21-5 loss. Was it a loss to break the undefeated curse or a sign of a team barely holding things together? POWBOT predicts For The Boys to progress with a score of 17-11. Both of these teams enter playoffs off the back of huge wins. Though favored on paper, For The Boys will need to be on their game and tread lightly, or else they’ll get stomped. Hero Series Playoffs for Hero series has the top 3 point earners from Purple and Teal Conferences seeded 1-6 with the 7-8 seeds being the next 2 highest point teams. The 1 seed will play the 8 seed. The 2 seed will play the 7 seed. The 3 seed will play the 6 seed. The 4 seed will play the 5 seed. Let’s see the matchups for this week and POWBOT’s predictions. POWBOT predicts Golden Wisps to progress with a score of 20-6. Golden Wisps have been dominant this season, beating all challengers standing in their path. APM Yang limped into the playoffs with consecutive losses and only 2 players with a positive record. APM Yang will need to pull off the upset of the season to take this one. POWBOT predicts No Pros Here to progress with a score of 14-13. No Pros Here secured the 2 seed off the form of their 2 and 4 seeds, but entered the playoffs without Pasca, opening the door for F2L. Which team’s out of form players will stand up this week to send their team through? POWBOT predicts @Diamond @Diamond to progress with a score of 16-10. @Diamond @Diamond will be relying on their middle seeds to carry them through. The 1 and 4 seed matches look to be where this tie will be decided. POWBOT predicts APM Yin to progress with a score of 16-13. Both teams have built their seasons on the strength of their lower seeds, with their higher seeds being serviceable throughout the season. Expect a lot of close matches. This one could go either way. Legacy Series Playoffs for Legacy series are over 4 weeks. The top team from each conference along with the highest point earner who is not a conference winner have byes this week. The other 8 playoff teams comprise the remaining top 4 teams from each conference seeded by their point totals. Let’s see the matchups for this week and POWBOT’s predictions. POWBOT predicts Pod People to progress with a score of 18-10. Chaos Theory benefited from favorable crossover matches to finish 5-4 on the season. They scraped into the last playoff spot, losing to a team that missed the playoffs. Pod People should be a step up in competition for them and they may struggle to get the points they require. Don’t underestimate a team that finally gets its playoff chance after so many near misses in the past though. POWBOT predicts Illidan’s Death Knights to progress with a score of 14-13. These 2 teams played in Week 8 with IDK getting a close 15-12 win over Defias. I expect the matches to fall the same way once again with the 1 seed deciding the tie either way. POWBOT predicts Hearthstone Academy to progress with a score of 14-13. These 2 teams played in Week 8, though HSA’s 4 and 5 seeds have swapped. This could be the change HSA needed to take this tie. ZILFS have also been on a horror run in the second half of the season. Can they find their form from 2 seasons ago and capture another title? POWBOT predicts The Cooler to progress with a score of 17-12. These teams line up fairly evenly down the line with The Cooler having an ever so slight advantage in most of the matches. The Cooler could have been the top seed in silver if not for a DQ in the final round, while MUOH was the top seed in the Silver Conference last season as Wallet Warriors. The loser of this one will feel like their season ended far too soon. That wraps up POWBOT’s predictions Week 1 of THL playoffs for standard competitions! Congratulations once again to all teams that made the playoffs this season. Best of luck to all those competing this week. POWBOT will be back next week to preview Week 2 of THL playoffs.
