Thanks for reading another edition of Legacy Power Rankings! Not a ton of movement in the rankings this week, as the playoff picture is getting more and more set week by week. That being said, there were some surprising matches this week that had a definitely impact on the playoff race, and our rankings reflect those. Key highlights for the week: BRF faces off against DadLegend in what we believe to be the match of the week. Gold remains dominant in our rankings, with 6 of the top 8 teams being from the gold conference. Our dark horse predictions for Xnergy and Mox remain in effect with both teams winning last week. 1. Card Advantage Tempest (+0) Not much needs to be said about CAT. Their schedule remains as one of the easier ones, and they are already first in Legacy Series in points. Every single one of their players has a winning record, but there's been a bit of a shift in who's been winning as the season progressed. Early on, there was more emphasis on the team needing their bottom three seeds to pick up wins, but over time their top two seeds have begun to shine as well. Last week their top three seeds all won, securing them a close win over Ninjas in Bathrobes. 2. BadonkaGonk (+0) BadonkaGonk won the battle for gold this week, defeating DadLegend in convincing fashion, with only DocMcButt dropping his match. Their next major challenge will be against Board Resistance Fighters in week 9, which may be a battle for the 1 seed in the gold conference. 3. Da Stubbs (+5) Da Stubbs are on a hot streak! Since starting off the season 2-2, they've won three weeks in a row, catapulting them to second place in red conference. Their remaining schedule is also not particularly difficult, which makes it more likely that they'll hold onto their six point lead on third and fourth place 4. Board Resistance Fighters (+2) BRF is a really interesting team to rank at this point in the season. So far, they haven't beaten a single team currently in the top 4 in gold, but they are still at the top of the points standings in their conference. They also have yet to play perhaps the two hardest matches on their entire schedule, DadLegend in week 8 and BadonkaGonk in week 9. These matches will do well to prepare them for playoffs, and if they win, may even secure them the first seed in Gold. 5. Saronite Pain Gang (+0) The gang got a solid win over Team Next Level last week, even though it may have been closer than they wanted it to be. The key reason they are as high as we have them in the rankings is strength of schedule. They have the easiest remaining schedule of any of the top six teams on our rankings, 6. DadLegend (-3) DadLegend only win a single series against BadonkaGonk last week in what we thought was a good matchup for the squad. It's a strong loss for sure, but as a result they've fallen to the fourth place gold team in our rankings (and third in the standings). They have one of the most difficult schedules in Legacy Series remaining, where they play both BRF and TNL. 7. Xnergy (+3) Xnergy had a huge win last week against RNG, but they still have quite a way to go if they want to make playoffs. The points standings have them sixth in gold conference, and they're currently fifth in our rankings for gold. They'll have to make up a seven point gap between themselves and the likes of Saronite Pain Gang in order to reach their goal, but it's definitely possible. 8. RNG (-4) RNG is our biggest dropper this week, as they lost to a team that was (and still is) outside of the playoffs in the standings. This was in large part to two of their players failing to submit classes in time and receiving DQ losses. Giving up that many points this late in the season hurts a lot, but RNG should be able to bounce back. 9. Noob Central (+0) The Noobs didn't have the result they wanted last week, tying WTT and earning 15 points. This has knocked them all the way down to sixth in points in their conference, but only four points away from the playoffs. We believe they'll be able to make their way back into the playoffs due to having the third easiest remaining schedule in Legacy Series, but they'll need to put up wins if they want to capitalize on that. 10. Nice Pants! (-3) The pants have seemed to get a little rusty over time this season. They've lost two weeks in a row now, but have been able to pick up enough points in their losses to remain in third in red conference in points. Right now we project them as the fourth seed in Red conference playoffs, right behind Noob Central, but a strong performance could put them as high as the second seed. 11. We Thought This Was LHS (+2) WTT is (for the first time!) top 4 in points in red, meaning they have a great shot at the playoffs. They bounced back in a big way from back when we had them ranked as low as 19th, and that effort has been led by Ihatebananas, who is now 6-1 on the season. However, they have one of the harder schedules of the other playoff contenders in Red, and play against the team currently third in points in Red this week (Nice Pants). This week may be the most important of their season, as they'll be able to take points away from a rival and score some for themselves if they are successful. Watch out for the close matchup of 3-4 players Boozasaurus and Stephieee and 4-3 players Ghost and Aeo to decide the week. 12. Team Mox (+2) Mox got a necessary win against the Pod People last week, moving them up two spots in our rankings. It wasn't as big of a performance as we were hoping for from them, but it still puts them within nine points of a playoff spot. Playoffs are looking unlikely for them, since so many teams being in contention means that someone is likely to step up, but they still definitely have a chance. A twenty point week against NiB this week might be necessary if they want to still have a shot this late in the season. 13. Team Next Level (-2) Right now, TNL doesn't have a clear road to playoffs for us. They have a harder schedule than many of the teams that are ahead of the standings (such as Xnergy, RNG, and SPG), and they don't have a ton of momentum on their side either (this is their second consecutive loss). One thing they do have is the current frontrunner for MVP, Fsorace1, who as of the time this article was written is up to a 24-2 game score on the season. He's had an absolutely incredible season, and easily was the best value for PR player in Legacy Series this season. 14. askHS (+1) askHS is only two points out of the playoffs, but they are still at fourteenth in our rankings. This is solely due to the face that they still must play two out of our top three teams in our entire rankings, CAT and Da Stubbs. If they can have solid performances in the next two weeks, they will have a shot at the playoffs, but not many teams have done so against these two teams. 15. Pod People (-3) 16. Dirty Mike and the Boys (+0) 17. Collective Mayhem (+1) 18. Ninjas in Bathrobes (+1) 19. Dragon Army (-2) 20. Hero Power Rangers (+0)
