iCon, Ultimate and Boozasaurus give us their weekly Power Rankings1. Nice Pants!
A team that was met with mixed reactions and extremely varied opinions upon reveal, Nice Pants 5-0’d Ninjas In Bathrobes (an extremely high-ranked preseason team) in week 1, with sweeps from Rizen and iCon. 2. Card Advantage Tempest Highly anticipated preseason team Card Advantage Tempest put a smack-down on Team Mox in week 1, with extremely one-sided wins on the parts of Ultimate and BillSnyder. 3. Team Next Level A team that was in the dumpster depths of the 20 and 19 ranks last season, TNL seems to have risen from the ashes with a strong performance versus one of the most hyped teams of the preseason. A strong 4-1 vs Board Resistance Fighters and a sweep from rookie 5 seed FSorace1 puts TNL in our 3 spot this week. 4. Saronite Pain Gang A new record has been set. The Pain Gang has come to party. The gang-related memes are out in full force. In what most would consider to be an utterly insane turn of events, Darkseid’s crew performed 5 full sweeps against previous season’s finalists Collective Mayhem, denying them a single point out of 5 matches played. Time will tell if the broom gang will continue their cleaning tendencies, or if this was just a one-off result against a team feeling shaky in their first few weeks. Maybe this is just how the mafia works. 5. Dragon Army Rookie team Dragon Army is starting off strong with a solid win over Hero Power Rangers. One half of the edgy siblings, Shadowranger, had an impressive sweep versus Dusharmo, and league veteran THLeumer made a resounding return to THL play with his accompanying sweep versus Travischrono. 6. DadLegend Veteran team DadLegend put up a narrow 3-2 win over previous season playoff team RNG. Mayanadon’s 3-0 sweep versus RNG mainstay Krakshot proved to be the nail in the coffin for the Nice Guys, putting DadLegend in our #6 slot for week 1-2. 7. The Pod People The Pod People had a fantastic start to their season, with a 4-1 series score over Da Stubbs. Time will tell if DirestBear and Runhesaid’s 3-0 sweeps are a trend that will continue throughout the season, or if the Pod People will once again start out hot and burn out in a blaze of inconsistency. 8. Board Resistance Fighters This extremely hyped Red conference team took a tough beating from Team Next Level week 1, but BRF's roster remains so incredibly strong on paper that they fall into our 8th slot this week. The Rest 9. Noob Central 10.AskHS 11. BadonkaGonk 12. Hero Power Rangers 13. RNG 14. Ninjas in Bathrobes 15. Xnergy 16. Team Mox 17. Durty Mike and the Boys 18. Da Stubbs 19. We Thought This Was LHS 20. Collective Mayhem
