Only a few weeks left in the Legacy season, let's take a look at our playoff race while looking back on the preseason stats.
Red Conference HOT ZILFS - 95 Points (5-0) - 19/Week - 1st Place The stats predicted this to be a strong team and they have lived up to the hype. The top three seeds of Kols, Rebobson and Donde are all on pace to zip past their average. Meanwhile Anfal and Jimphilos too are on pace to at least meet if not exceed theirs. That being said, matchups with GLA and Toxic Reinforcements are on the horizon for the final two weeks and will certainly be a big test. There's an 18 point buffer here between ZILFS and falling out of the playoffs which should be enough to retain their playoff spot even if they falter a bit down the stretch. Kols 5-0 Rebobson 4-1 Donde 4-1 Anfal 2-3 Jimphilos 2-3 Good Luck Albatrosses - 88 Points (4-1) - 17.6/Week - 2nd Place Sometimes the stats just hold as GLA was statistically predicted to be the 2nd best team in Red and here they are. All of their players are on pace to exceed their predictions (Dusharmo), meet their predictions (Lotus, Catman and Shoebacca) or have already surpassed their previous average (ItsMeMikeV). After a pivotal matchup with ZILFS this week the schedule eases up a bit so even if they don't come out on top in week 7 I still like GLA to make the playoffs in this polarized conference. LotusKnight 3-1 Catman1950 3-2 Dusharmo 4-1 ItsMeMikeV 2-3 Shoebacca 3-2 Da Stubbs - 77 Points (3-3) - 12.8/Week - 5th Place This is the first time the stats deviate from the preseason projection. Stubbs have yet to have their bye and are not in the playoffs currently which means they only have two weeks of work left to do. Curufinwe came into the season with a very large 6 win average and is on pace to get there once more even after moving up in seed. Siege is a pure rookie hovering around the .500 mark which is as much anyone can reasonably hope for in their first THL season. Ozma continues to be strong but Nate and Chronic have struggled this season and that has taken a toll on the team score. Aside from the bye the remaining schedule is somewhat favorable. Stubbs will need to smash both weeks to have a shot. Nate 2-4 Ozmanaut 3-3 TheChronic 1-5 Curufinwe86 4-2 Siege 2-3 Dirty Mike and the Boys - 59 Points (0-5-1) - 9.8/Week - 8th Place Durtymike ain't walkin' through that door and Los Lonely Boys are wondering just how far is heaven? It's a really long way off right now. The bright spot has been Lefty who can still sling with the best of 'em. He'll beat his average and so should Khell but unfortunately that average was set at 1.33. The rest of the team (TonyMontana, SirLos and BrushyTuna) might not make it to half their average. They're on bye this week and will look to play spoiler in the final two weeks of the season against Not Yjs and Stubbs. TonyMontana 1-5 SirLos 1-5 Khell 1-5 Lefty2111 4-2 BrushyTuna 1-4 Toxic Reinforcements - 82 Points (3-2) - 16.4/Week - 3rd Place Although the stats had them rated lower, this team entered the season with a significant amount of hype and have cemented themselves as a contender. Icicles won't be hitting his one season average but is still having a fine season. Tris should also reach his average. Fsorace looks great and poised to at least match his 6 win average and Chubbs has already doubled up his average of 1. Is CarltonBanks Fischwa? I'm not sure, he's a rookie either way and looking solid, on pace for a 6 win season. This all being said, I think this team might be the most vulnerable of the current playoff teams. They have three matches left, one against a team in Yjs who have shown they can and will take out anyone. They have playoff aspirations and will be bringing it. The remaining two matches are against currently playoff bound BYE and ZILFS. TrisHS 2-3 Icicles 3-2 Carltonbanks 3-1 Fsorace1 4-1 Chubbspetersonshand 2-3 Team Annoy-O-Team - 53 Points (1-4) - 10.6/Week - 9th Place It's safe to say this season hasn't gone the way T-O-T would like. Noltown is improving on his average in a tough 1 seed spot and Amaj should also reach his average. Dan0 is coming off a Rookie of the Season caliber campaign with 7 wins which was always going to be hard to repeat. Zthund has looked but has not played a full slate of games and Thefinalrefuge has struggle in their rookie season out of the 5 seed. To make matters worse this team has the toughest remaining schedule to close out the season. Noltown 3-2 Amaj10 2-3 Dan0 2-3 Zthund 2-1 Thefinalrefuge 1-4 Just Rogue Things - 71 Points (2-2-1) - 14.2/Week - 6th Place We start to enter the land of teams that were comprised of a lot of unknowns and Just Rogue Things has been a strong competitor. They're only 6 points out of third place right now and have already had their bye week. C0mp and Dexter were the only known quantities entering the season. Dexter will exceed his average and c0mp should hit his. The remaining three are hovering right around .500 with EpicalNoise and nebcanuk at 3 wins and ekename at 2. GLA in week 8 will be real test here. If they're in the hunt heading into week 9 it could be the Rogues vs Not Yjs to decide the final playoff spot. C0mp 2-3 Ekename16 2-3 Nebcanuk 3-2 EpicalNoise 3-2 Dexter 4-1 BYE - 78 Points (2-4) - 13/Week - 4th Place This team was hard to evaluate in the preseason and it's still difficult now. All five players were legacy rookies with Disco and AgentPWE having Hero experience. Both of them should exceed their Hero averages. SnakeFawdz struggled in his Hero season and has only fared slightly better in Legacy. NoGlocko stumbled last week but by and large has looked great while Pasca just jumped in at the 5 seed (busted) and won in his first action. The problem is this team has not had their bye week and their points per week is below the 6th place team Just Rogue Things. Toxic Reinforcements will be looking to shut down BYE in week 8 and then BYE will likely have to try and hold on for dear life as they don't play in week 9. It's possible that they don't even make it to week 9 with a chance if Toxic comes out swinging. NoGlocko 4-2 AgentPWE 3-3 Disco 4-2 SnakeFawdz 1-5 Pasca 1-0 Not-YJs - 65 Points (3-2) - 13/Week - 7th Place YJs started hot, hit a skid and now they're back. Their average points would put them in a tie for 4th with BYE but as you can see they've already had their bye (the one where you don't play, not the team). Everyone but KidEternity was an unknown coming into this season and it has been a total team effort thus far. Kid is already at average and Lemons is the potential Rookie of the Season (and in the hunt for MVP). Inzi has looked good in limited action and Slay is hanging tough. SilverTFox is one of two permanent subs on a team that has had decent turnover. Despite that, they're in the hunt and I think they have a legitimate shot at being the final playoff team. If they can survive Toxic this week they'll have the aforementioned matchup in week 9 that I think will be a winner take all. Slay 2-3 Inzi 2-0 Lemons 4-0 KidEternity 2-2 SilverTFoxDemon 1-2 Gold Conference Assssuh Dude - 87 Points (3-3) - 14.5/Week - T-2nd Place This team was a solid mix of experienced THLers and two rookies who had Hero experience. Both S4nguine and Meduzas have come in and met expectations although S4nguine might fall just short of the lofty 7 win average she brought over from Hero. Snake and iCon should meet their projections and ShinyPants will exceed his. When your team is preseason projected for 1st in the conference and everyone gets to at least close to their average, it means you'll be successful and that's exactly what we're seeing. Although they still have a bye left on the schedule, their remaining two games are against two teams with a combined two wins between them. This should translate to at least a 3rd or 4th place finish and playoff berth. Snake 3-3 S4nguine 4-2 iCon 2-4 ShinyPants 3-3 Meduzas 3-3 Dad Legend - 86 Points (3-0-2) - 17.2/Week - 4th Place A mere one point separates 4th and 2nd but Dad Legend has played 1 fewer week thanks to their earlier bye week. Zaib is undefeated and looks unstoppable. The only reason he might not hit his average is due to the week he missed from playing in Arlington. At the rate he's going, he might miss another week for Sweden (check his Twitter, he's crushing). BillSnyder too is unstoppable and has already exceeded his average. Terd is already at projection and Mayanadon and YellowDart should soon arrive. This is a great team putting up big numbers. Were it not for one team we'll discuss shortly, they might be in line to run away with 1st in Gold. Their match with Pod this week is their hardest remaining. They might take first place yet. HonestZaib 4-0 Mayanadon 3-2 YellowDart 3-2 BillSnyder 5-0 TerdHerder 2-3 Wet Whoa-Men - 87 Points (4-0-1) - 17.4/Week - T-2nd Place This team is almost a shot for shot replica of DL. Both are undefeated, averaging within 2 tenths of a point of one another and both have already had their bye week. LiquidOx has already reached his converted Hero average as a Rookie and Dragonrider is about to pass hers. JR and Mattyebs are right on the doorstep of their averages with a pair of positive records. Quirky is the odd woman out right now as she still has a chance to reach her average but has struggled in the first half. Despite that, I see a playoff berth in the Whoa-Men's future. Their final schedule is harder than DL (Playing against 4NI and Pod) but they should be able to put up enough points to make it. LiquidOx 4-1 Dragonrider 4-1 JRJuggerlaw 3-2 Mattyebs 3-2 QuirkyTurtle 1-4 Saronite Pain Gang - 55 Points (1-4) - 11/Week - 9th Place Just for comparison's sake, the team in Red in 4th place is averaging 13/Week. Gold appears to be much more evenly dispersed in terms of difficulty and that has cost SPG. Darkseid is having a magical season on a personal note as he is undefeated in the 4 seed. SilentredRT is still looking for win number 1 in his rookie season and Aviously has had a disappointing THL showing this season in Legacy. Blakmajik won't reach his average but CypherZero is off to a commendable start in replacing Freeloader. Even if SPG was playing easier teams down the stretch this gap would be too insurmountable to consider them a playoff team. Aviously 2-3 CypherZero 1-1 Silentredrt 0-5 Darkseid 5-0 Blakmajik 1-4 4th and Inches - 111 Points (5-1) - 18.5/Week - 1st Place If you need a key 1st down pickup you can feel free to hand the rock to anyone on this roster. Top to bottom, they're getting it done right now even though the stats had them as a fringe playoff contender in the preseason. In fairness, I did say that I expected them to outperform the stats so I alone will take credit for their success. What's that? You say SKItLLeZ deserves the credit as captain? Or perhaps RonMexico, Itachi and RageDopple all crushing their averages? What about urmumked (who replaced Clarity very early) being an extremely solid pick up while SuperMurloc holds steady at .500? Fine. We can split the credit, 90/10 in my favor. That's my final offer. 4NI will have their bye week in the last week of the season so they're going to want to accumulate as many points as possible to try and hold that one spot down. Wet Whoa-Men is the big matchup in week 8. Itachi 5-1 RonMexico 5-1 Urmumked 3-2 SuperMurloc 3-3 RageDopple 5-1 Galakronies - 64 Points (2-3) - 12.8/Week - 7th Place Another victim of a tough conference. Everyone on the team has a sub .500 record at the moment but the team has found its way to 2 wins. Based is struggling in her rookie season and barring an undefeated run Ghost will not match his average. Sage, Booze and Mako could hit their averages but Sage hasn't had the same luck in Legacy as he has in Hero. I don't think this team is dead in the water but they're going to need to win and get some help. It starts with a big matchup vs Wet Whoa-Men this week. Basedinc 1-4 Twostarmako 2-3 Boozasaurus 2-3 Ghost 2-3 Sage 2-3 Pod People - 78 Points (2-3) - 15.6/Week - 5th Place This is an intriguing team in a tough situation. They've had their bye and they have two tough games coming up on the schedule. Their points per week is pretty reasonable and indicative of a winning/fringe playoff team. I like that they control their own destiny but they'll need to be on for the next 3 weeks. Zerotio has been the juice for this team as he's already ahead of his average pace. Rhat is always a threat and he should finish around his average. Mattatarms and Wickedgood are both better players than their average would suggest and are on pace to surpass theirs. With Saku coming in and starting off at 1-1 this team has a shot. Their preseason stats were a bit further depressed than they should have been and I'm not surprised to see them in contention. Ridiculoushat 3-2 Zerotio 4-1 Mattatarms 2-3 Wickedgood 2-3 Saku 1-1 Always Topdeck Lethal 69 Points (1-4-1) - 11.5/Week - 6th Place This week's bye team will likely be passed by at least one team before they play their final two weeks. Br1ck has already hit his average while Force of Will is going to find it a fight to get to his. Pure rookie Topdeck has struggled in opening weeks but Shunsui has filled in admirably in the 5 seed. FreeHongKong will likely get to his average but I think this team is in too deep of a hole with only two to play. They have a very tough match vs Assssuh and will try to play spoiler. FreeHongKong 3-3 TopDeck 1-5 Br1ck 2-4 Force of Will 2-4 Shunsui21 2-3 The Misfits 56 Points (1-4) - 11.2/Week - 8th Place Last but not least (technically true!) we have the Misfits. Ted has had a season to forget in the 1 seed but at least he's killin' it in Hero! CraigofCanada and MrIncredible have had rough rookie starts to varying degrees. Thetowndrunk is looking good to at least meet his average and Quaz has been a nice bright spot. The largest impact this team will have down the stretch is they play 3 likely playoff teams. The Misfits got their first win of the season last week and would like to end the season on a high note no doubt even if that still leaves them on the outside of the playoff race looking in. The_bigted 1-4 CraigOfCanada 2-3 Thetowndrunk 3-2 MrIncredible 0-5 Quaz 3-2 Rookie Report These are your current frontrunners for Rookie of the Season. Below you'll see their PPR - Record - Game score Lemons - 2nd 4-0 (12-2) LiquidOx - 9th 4-1 (12-4) S4nguine - 10th 4-2 (14-6) Disco - 19th 4-2 (14-11) NoGlocko - 26th 4-2 (14-13)
