This week, Diamond sits down for a brief chat with everyone's favourite pre-teen: LiquidOx, captain of HypeHorizen! Hello THL,
Today I have a very special guest for the interview series. I have a two-time pro series champion, twitch partner, Masters Tour attendee, and captain of HypeHorizen, LiquidOx. Diamond: How has your first season of captaining been and what advice do you have for new captains? LiquidOx: This season has gone pretty well so far, can’t say I’ve had to do a lot. The great thing about the Pro Series is that I can have a whole team of self-sufficient players who prep by themselves, making my job easier. For newer captains, I’d just advise you to pick your team wisely. You’ll do better with people you get on with, than people who should be good on paper. Diamond: What were your initial expectations for this THL season? LiquidOx: I expected the team to do well and I guess they have. I was hoping to have more time to be more invested in prep etc but I have been super busy recently with stream and school, but overall enjoying the season. Diamond: How has this season been with playing with your Hype Horizen teammates? LiquidOx: Yeah it’s fun, we all get on well and it’s interesting to discuss strategies and experiment with different ideas and lineups to find what works best. Diamond: What is the Hype Horizen team discord like? LiquidOx: Dead. Hopefully, someone sends a message this week. Diamond: Is it difficult for you to schedule THL matches because of your timezone? LiquidOx: In 3 or 4 seasons of THL I’ve had literally 0 issues with scheduling, people have always been super nice and accommodating when it comes to scheduling which is awesome. Diamond: What is like being a Twitch Partner? LiquidOx: Not much different to before to be honest. Yeah, I have a checkmark and stuff but I still just sit down and play children’s card games for hours on end, no different to before. Diamond: Who do you think your biggest competition is this season? LiquidOx: Probably Adamos. Adam is good. Diamond: What is your favourite part about streaming? LiquidOx: Although playing on stream is hard and exhausting, I like discussing things with chat and I am using it as a way to improve as a player. I think getting outside opinions on plays/decks is very helpful. Thank you, Ox for taking the time out of your busy schedule for this interview. The next interview will be with a mystery guest from the Wild Series. -Diamond
