captain interview series -nineeyebrows

Hello THL,

For today’s interview, I have a Hall of Fame captain and arguably the greatest Hero Series captain of all time, Nineeyebrows. 

Diamond: What do you look for when constructing your rosters?
Nine: Every roster I have captained has revolved around the core of SkrtReynolds/YouKittenMe/cmaccomph and me, so my job is just to find one or two who will mold well with us.

Diamond: How would you describe your captaining style?
Nine: Team-oriented? Like, I like to let my players decide what they wanna play and how they wanna approach each week. There is a lot of discussion between us all and I just focus heavily on all of us getting along and HAVING FUN.

Diamond: Are there any moments over your time captaining that stick out?
Nine: Hmm, the EWTWMSS season has to be my favorite. The shirts we got and all that were so incredible. 

Diamond: Do you find that you captain differently when you are playing versus when you are not playing?
Nine: I find that I do, however the only seasons I did step back were seasons where we had AlwaysJustinTime on the team and that guy is so smurf that my job was easy.

Diamond: Who would be your dream team of people that you would like to captain?
Nine: My dream team would be to run back EWTWMSS or Tonk if You Are Corny, if I have to be on the team. However I feel the best team I got to captain was the At Least I Don’t Have Chicken squad, so Kitten, JustinTime, Nejiboston, Cmac, and Skrt as a 5 man.

Diamond: Which of your logos is your favourite?
Nine: EWTWMSS! The most iconic in my mind without a doubt. I have so much fun making every logo of mine tho haha.

Diamond: Who is your biggest competition in Hero this season?
Nine: Ourselves? There are definitely good teams out there but none of them should be unbeatable, given we do proper prep and practice but I feel 

Diamond: What would your advice for any rookie or newer captains in THL be?
Nine: Have fun! As cheesy as it is, I feel the “power of friendship” sorta teams I have run always have done the best rather than the ones that take the season the most seriously. For hero specific advice, good prep can win you a match so many times, but the ban phase is the most important part of a hero match IMO.
