THL Power Rankings: S8/5, Week 3!

Every week, we will be bringing you a new, updated version of the Power Rankings, encompassing both Ragnaros and Sylvanas Leagues. Every Wednesday evening, watch this space for Ericokey and FollowDurden's Ragnaros League rankings, and MojoPowell and YellowDart's Sylvanas League rankings! If you don't fancy the read, then the rankings will also be discussed every Thursday evening on Tavern Talk, 9PM at twitch.tv/teamhearthleague. Really, you have no excuse to not know what everyone thinks of your team! Overall standings are decided by a mixture of both author's individual rankings, as well as a healthy helping of good old fashioned data, provided by Starlax. What's more, we asked you, the THL community, to weigh in with your own rankings: CR denotes the average Community Ranking, while PR denotes Previous Ranking. Read on!

Ragnaros League: Week 3

1) Thermic Whims (CR 2; PR 1)
Thermic Whims continue to dominate, with another win this week over Team Next Level. If they keep this up for a few more weeks then it could end up being smooth sailing into the playoffs for this team.

2) Team Swagoi (CR 4;PR 3)
Swagoi wins again, taking down the very strong Team Mox, 17-8. Multiple undefeated players? Check. Dominant wins vs strong opponents? Check. If Swagoi isn’t 1st on your power rankings, you better have a great reason why.

3) Bloodbath & Beyond (CR 3; PR 2)
BB&B takes an unconventional win vs Hombres, earning as few points (12) as possible in earning the +3 week bonus. They swept in the 1 & 3 seeds (Joe & Starlax), were swept in the 2 & 5 seeds (YellowDart & Aeo), and Hockey earned a DQ win to get the week’s W. Just strange, but what do you expect when playing the Hombres?

4) Hearthstone Academy (CR 1; PR 5)
HSA won a close one this week against the reigning champions Texas Stubbies. They rebounded back from their loss last week but they will need to keep it up in this tough Red/Blue conference.

5) Dirty Mike and the Boys (CR 6; PR 16)
The Boys are back in town and they brought the broom with them in a full sweep this week, winning 20-7 against Really Nice Guys. If they can keep this momentum up then they can offset their rough start.

6) Team Mox (CR 11; PR 4)
Mox shouldn’t hang their heads too low, as losing to the #1 team in league isn’t the worst that can happen. If the season ended today then Mox would be in the playoffs, so being in control of your own destiny is always a nice spot; ArthurRhodes takes their lone W in Week 3. Their schedule doesn’t slow down much, as PCC comes to town. This week could have huge implications for the playoff picture as Rag League moves into the middle part of the season.

7) ThunderGun Express (CR 8; PR 9)
ThunderGun Express cultivated some mass this week in the form of a 14-9 win over our Maple Syrup Inc. They will have a tough match in this upcoming week against Thermic Whims, who are the current leader of the Red Division, in which they trail by 13.

8) Team Next Level (CR 5; PR 5)
Team Next Level got knocked back a level this week by Thermic Whims in which they lost by 10 points. They will look to bounce back this week in a big way to continue to stay in the playoff race in the highly competitive Red/Blue conference.

9) Spicey Boys (CR 9; PR 11)
A match vs. the Noobs was just what the Spicey Boys needed after a gruelling first 2 weeks, and they capitalized with an 18-7 victory. Their 4x wins for the week registered 16-3 in points, and Wolfmack got rolling with his first W for the season.

10) Really Nice Guys (CR 6; PR 7)
Really Nice guys had a rough week this week, losing every match in their series with Dirty Mike and the Boys. They will look to show up big this week to make up for last week.

11) Project Mayhem (CR 12; PR 16)
After a massive week in which only Durden dropped the ball, Mayhem earns 18 points and finds themselves in the thick of the Purple/Gold playoff race. Itachi remains undefeated on the season, and Markshire is 6-1 in points the last 2 weeks. This week is a huge breakpoint in their season, as they draw the top points team in all of Rag League - Swagoi.

12) Xnergy (CR 9; PR 14)
A wise man once said “X gon give it to ya”; he also said “X gon deliver to ya”. Both of these things happened this week, and the thing X gave and delivered was a big fat L to Defias Brotherhood. Hopefully X has more of those to give out.

13) Prep Coin Concede (CR 14; PR14)
JetLaw took his first loss of the season in the 1-seed, but PCC still rolls in taking the 16-8 victory vs ATL in a big divisional matchup. Their 2-5 seeds put up an incredible performance in match play, going 16-4. And, just like that, PCC is in the thick of the playoff race. They have a huge match in Week 4 vs Team Mox.

14) Texas Stubbies (CR 13; PR 12)
The reigning champs are off to a very rough start but they have put up decent numbers in all of their losses so I wouldn't count them out by any means just yet. That being said this week will be a big make it or break it week for them for sure.

15) Always Topdeck Lethal (CR 15; PR 8)
After coming out of the Week 1 gates on absolute fire, ATL falls hard again with an 8-16 loss to PCC. DZB got a huge sweep in the 1-seed vs Jetlaw, but every other seed fell. This is a roster w/ no one undefeated, everyone has a W for the season… If they can get a consistent flow going they can find themselves back in the playoff hunt, as they’re only 7 points out with 6 weeks to go. Things don’t get easy, though, as they draw the powerhouse BB&B for Week 4.

16) The Pod People (CR 17; PR 10)
After a nice Week 2 win vs the Hombres, the Pod People stumble in an 18-7 loss vs Mayhem. DirestBear pulled out their only W, in the 4-seed vs Durden. RidiculousHat, though, suffers his second sweep of the season, and his match record falls to 3-8.

17) Defias Brotherhood (CR 15; PR 18)
Defias Brotherhood lost this week in a series that came down to the last match. They will need to bounce back from this rough start sooner rather than later if they want to have a shot at playoffs

18) Bad Hombres (CR 19; PR 13)
The Hombres fall again. Despite a roster of THL veterans, they just can’t seem to get any momentum going. Yet, they were on the verge of a huge upset vs BB&B before Brunson was DQ’ed. What could have been… Leumer keeps rolling, sweeping Aeo this week. Bytes got on the board in a big way, getting a sweep vs YellowDart in the 2-seed. There’s too much potential in this roster for them to keep losing like this.

19) Maple Syrup inc. (CR 20; PR 19)
Maple Syrup inc. continue to have a rough start with another loss this week. They will need to figure out what is wrong and fix it fast if they want to turn this season around.

20) Noob Central (CR 18; PR 20)
 The Noobs keep on losing, getting crushed by the Spicey Boys in Week 3. Stephieee was the only player to get a mark in the win column, as she gets a huge victory vs IronFIRE. Every other player on their roster lost 1-3 or worse. They draw the Pod People in Week 4, in a match of struggling teams.

Sylvanas League: Week 3

1) Thiccbois (CR 1; PR 2)
The Thiccbois have done it once again! A 14-10 defeat over the powerhouses of Team Next Level solidifies their place as one of the top teams in the league. They continue to look increasingly tough to beat, and it will be interesting to see if anyone can stop them at this point in their run towards the playoffs.

2) Booty Sweat (CR 3; PR 6)
Booty Sweat showed off this week with yet another sweep of a powerful team. Winning 20-3 against Team Black Lotus is a great way to bounce back from a loss, and this puts them back up at the top of the list, and in the front of everyone’s minds going into Week 4. Was their week 2 just unlucky? Because two sweeps in three weeks seems pretty good to me.

3) Team Next Level (CR 2; PR 1)
Team Next Level takes their first L of the season in a close match with Sylvanas League powerhouse Thiccbois. CARY and Jammies stay consistent, taking home 3 wins each in the one and two seeds, but the lower seeded players will have to step it up this week if they want to defeat the now-confident Team TRYHARD. Regardless of this loss, Team Next Level remains a team to watch as we continue through the season.

4) DadLegend (CR 5; PR 3)
DadLegend takes their first loss of the season this week, falling 15-11 to Xplosive Sheep. A late Sunday night decider match between Power Rankers YellowDart and MojoPowell went to the Sheep. Egman and Junksterr picked up solid wins this week while WowDotBen took his first loss.

5) Tan Pam’s Surf Slam (CR 4; PR 11)
Tan Pam bounces back from a week 2 loss to a near sweep of Team HearthCoach. This incredibly impressive showing redeems the team considerably, and puts them closer towards the top with a 2-1 record going into week 4. We’ll have to see how they fare against their week 4 opponents, the Thiccbois, before really making judgement.

6) Toliwag’s Disciples (CR 9; PR 4)
The Disciples took their first loss of the season falling to the Boars this week. Switters and Darkseid got it done in their respective seeds while the rest of the team at least put up some points to make sure the week wasn’t a complete waste. They continue to lead the Red Division and will be looking for Captain Bonja to help them bounce back vs the Hero Power Rangers.

7) The Fearless Hearth (CR 13; PR 9)
The Fearless Hearth wins only 2 sets this week but is so effective in losing the other 3 that they won the week over the Hero Power Rangers. A sweep for Kazootaroot was the rebound he was looking for and Aviously picks up a nice win in the 1 seed. The rest of the gang all put up 2 points each and was enough to tilt the score in their favor 14-13 and has them sitting in the 2nd spot in the Blue Division.

8) Tinyfin Fan Club (CR 6; PR 7)
The defending champs fall for the second week in a row, after the X gave it to them 15-10. ArcaneTHL got back on track this week but they couldn’t overcome getting swept in the 2 and 4 seeds. Should be a good match next week vs. DadLegend with both teams looking to rebound from losses.

9) Xplosive Sheep (CR 14; PR 12)
The Sheep finally Xploded vs. DadLegend this week, picking up their first victory of the campaign. MojoPowell won the decider while mattyebs stays undefeated and FollowDurden picks up the sweep in a solid team performance. The win puts them in the playoff hunt with the Red Division up for grabs. They’ll look to continue their winning ways next week vs. The Fearless Hearth.

10) Big Deck Bandits (CR 10; PR 5)
I should really stop telling people they’re doing well, because this is the second or third time I’ve given a glowing review to a team who then lost decisively. Losing 15-11 to Team TRYHARD is not a good feeling, but I’m sure that the Big Deck Bandits will be able to collect themselves and move on, but their position in the rankings is now questionable.

11) 65,340,285 Boars (CR 11; PR 13)
A massive win for the Boars who take a 15-12 score over Toliwag’s Disciples who had been looking really strong. SmileyKris and KombatWombat going 6-2 in the 1&2 seeds really set the tone, while NecroticHS handled his business in the 5. The win puts them in the thick of the playoff hunt with the Red Division becoming very close.

12) Hero Power Rangers (CR 15; PR 10)
It doesn’t happen often but the Hero Power Rangers won in 3 of the 5 seeds but actually lost the match this week vs the Fearless Hearth. A strong loss if you’re gonna take one but certainly a feelsbad moment for the Rangers. MattAtArms, Navillus, and Zerotio all picked up narrow victories to deliver some points. MattAtArms also maintains his undefeated record and will actually slide into the 1 seed for Week 4.

13) Team Black Lotus (CR 8; PR 8)
Week 3 was dismal for the players of Team Black Lotus. Only two members of the team even managed to score points, with the rest getting demolished by Booty Sweat. A 3-20 defeat can be hard on team mentality and morale, so we’ll have to see if they can move past this and come back against next week’s opponents, Big Deck Bandits.

14) Team TRYHARD (CR 7;PR 16)
It finally happened. In a huge turnaround, Team TRYHARD takes a victory over the Big Deck Bandits, showing that they may be more than a meme. HockeyBoyz3 pulls out the big 3-0 win against Mooshu, while still bringing both Hunter and Shaman. The fact that they can still pick meme classes and actually take wins is astounding, and seeing whether or not they can repeat this performance will be completely enjoyable. Next week they face the formidable Team Next Level.

15) Xnergy (CR 12; PR 14)
The X gave it to Tinyfin Fan Club this week, with Wolfmack continuing to lead the charge as he took down Anamor in a battle of 2 of the top 1 seeds. Starlax and Bluespartan both pick up impressive sweeps to cement the victory. They really needed this one as despite picking up the victory they sit in last place in the conference, they’ll need to string together a few more wins to get back in contention.

16) Team HearthCoach (CR 16; PR 16)
Yet again, HearthCoach takes a huge defeat, this time from Tan Pam’s Surf Slam. Losing 6-17 is not the way Team HearthCoach wanted week 3 to go, but there’s still time left for them to figure out what’s not going so well, and fix it before things get really serious. Still though, 0-3 is not an easy score to come back from.
