Prep Coin Concede - Team Profile

Although their name may not be new, this version of Prep Coin Concede, lead by Necrotic,  are the international rookies. The majority of this team are brand new players to THL and are looking to make a name for themselves. Most teams decide to have 5 North American players on their team, however Prep Coin Concede decided to go with a mixed team consisting of two European players and 3 American players. The strategy seems to be paying off as Prep Coin Concede is currently sitting in a playoff position and are looking to extend their lead over the rest of their conference. They have done a great job at this in week 4 by sweeping the Season 6 champions HSA 20-8! Without further ado let’s learn more about PCC.

JETLAW - Current 2 seed, Lives in Long Island

What’s your THL history?
This is my first official season of THL. Last season, I was a sub for the Defias Brotherhood for one week and I also played in SHL last year.

How did you find THL?
HockeyBoyz3 was the one who told me about THL after we played in a different Hearthstone league called Bloodstone.

How long have you been playing Hearthstone?
I’ve been playing almost the daily since the release of Hearthstone, minus a 3 to 4-month hiatus during the Naxx/GVG period.

What do you love best about THL?
The team aspect is easily my favorite. Turning Hearthstone into a team format is so much fun. Also, being able to play a bo5 conquest match every week, at your convenience, is amazing.

Favorite THL person not on your team?
It has to be HockeyBoyz3 since I wouldn’t be in THL without him. He’s so active in this community that he really showed me how great the THL community is when I first started.

Favorite band/song/music to jam to while playing Hearthstone?
I usually don’t listen to additional music when playing Hearthstone but if I do it’s usually not a particular genre. Vlps did get me into Indie music from his stream and if I’m playing Hunter, I’m definitely am listening to this: https://youtu.be/-jenlSf2E8o

If you weren’t on your current team, what team would you like to be playing for?
I would have to say Golden Wisp and it’s not because they are one of the strongest teams at the moment. I’ve met AlecGW, theflyestlai, and Asuna irl and they are all really great people.

What do you do outside of Hearthstone?
I’m an associate at an employment and labor law firm. I also love sports, scuba diving, DJing, and traveling.

KRAKSHOT - Current 4 Seed, From Portland, Oregon 
The SmokedSalmon prodigy


What’s your THL history?
I got picked up by Jerry Damage's team, "The Damaged Ones," to play as their 5 seed back in season 4. I had a terrible first season, going 1/6. SmokedSalmon had enough faith in me to bring me on the following season playing for Entropy. Entropy's focus on practice and improving each member as a player helped me to drastically increase my winrate and overall skill level, landing me at a 5/2 win rate at the end of season 5. Unfortunately, Entropy dissolved at the end of season 5 and I was forced to find a new team yet again. THLeumer ended up scooping me up for his new team, Valkyrie. This turned out to be my best season yet, as I ended with a record of 8/1 and wound up earning the title of 5 seed all-star for season 6 and runner up for Most Improved. Of course, Valkyrie had to dissolve as well, so now I'm earning wins for Prep Coin Concede. I'm hoping to have another great season.

How did you find THL?
I was originally introduced to the league by long time Noob Central player JoshSampson and former Yogg Champs player Lordforehead, both of whom are close friends of mine in real life.

How long have they been playing Hearthstone?
I've been playing Hearthstone since TGT.

What do they love best about THL?
I enjoy what it's done to improve me as a player. I've made leaps and bounds from where I once was, and I have my team mates from Entropy and Valkyrie to thank for that. I also enjoy being part of a community. We're like a great, big, dysfunctional, meme-filled family. I'd like to think so, anyways.

Favorite THL person not on their team?
Slimsch. He's doing a damn fine job as commissioner and he's just a really fucking cool guy.

Favorite band/song/music to jam to while playing Hearthstone?
"Damn Son" by Tobu is a personal favorite, always gets me pumped. I have a playlist on youtube full of upbeat stuff for when I play Hearthstone.

If they weren’t on their current team, what team would they like to be playing for?
I would've liked to have kept Valkyrie together with JRJuggernaut, but we missed the deadline for captain applications. Perhaps another season. That said, I'm pretty confident that PCC is gonna kick some serious ass this season.

What do you do outside of Hearthstone?
I work as a machinist during the day. I spend a lot of my time on my gaming rig playing things like Mechwarrior Online and Dark Souls, or playing Magic: the Gathering or video games with friends. When I'm not doing any of that I'm spending time with my girlfriend, my biggest fan.

CINDER - Current 3 seed, From New Orleans

What’s your THL history?
I've played two games. When do I get my purple heart for valor?


How did you find THL?
A short little man with a bottomless stomach and a penchant for PBR wouldn't shut up about it.


How long have you been playing Hearthstone?
Started playing somewhere around mid-beta, been playing daily ever since.

What do you love best about THL?
I love the color of my division, teal. It is definitely teal and not cyan.

Favorite band/song/music to jam to while playing Hearthstone?
I have a 300+ hour playlist of hard rock and metal that I compiled for my neglected Twitch channel. It stretches from roots like Rush and Judas Priest all the way to the latest stuff coming out of the European scene today. Scar Symmetry, Textures, Aphyxion are some of my favorites.

If you weren’t on your current team, what team would you like to be playing for?
I was just happy to be picked up in my first season. Prep Coin Concede has been a killer team to work with so far. I haven't been around long enough to really know any other teams so right now I'm just glad to be here.

What do you do outside of Hearthstone?
I would say "work" but that's almost everyone. Gaming is my main jam, so if it's not Hearthstone it's probably tabletop RPGs, tabletop strategy games or CCGs. I currently play in Shadowrun and D&D games, dabble a bit in Warmachine, and will likely be diving in to the new Legend of the Five Rings LCG when it releases next month. Also a long-time fan of console RPGs. Currently working my way through Witcher 3 before Fallout 4 GOTY releases in a few weeks.

REBOBSON - Current 1 seed, Originally from London, Now lives in the Netherlands. We have also never seen Rebobson and Thijs in the same room together.

What’s your THL history?
One THL match, and one Wicked Wednesday. 100% winrate boizzz.

How did they find THL?
NWAs 1 seed, Ztdubz and I do a podcast together, Around the Hearth, and it was his idea that we should all get onto some kind of team league! He found THL through some eldritch, unimaginable means, we both signed up, and managed to get signed for the same team in SHL, but THL was a bit harder to find someone to pick me up. Eventually I discovered Necrotic hunting unicorns in a field, and the rest is history.


How long have they been playing Hearthstone?
I've been playing since sometime around GvG/just before LoE came out. A lot of what I was doing then could be boiled down to 'playing Dragon Priest', it wasn't until around ONiK era I became anything approaching competent in the game, and started paying attention to what was going on around the game rather than my own experiences. Gadgetzan was the era where I became just a little obsessed, and it's all been downhill ever since. Don't do Hearthstone kids.

What do they love best about THL?
Honestly I love PCC's team dynamic, we all play to our own strengths and combine to make a greater sum than our parts. Love that a League like this exists to bring together like-minded massive nerds.

Favorite band/song/music to jam to while playing Hearthstone?
All depends entirely on my mood at the time, classical is what I use if I really want to focus, the LOTR soundtrack and Holst's The Planets Suite are particular faves. Failing that, I have very eclectic tastes so I just jam on a Spotify 'Discover' playlist and see what comes up. Or, you know, just play We are Number One on loop.


If they weren’t on their current team, what team would they like to be playing for?
I'd start a team with Rollsafe, with Blackjack and hookers.


What do you do outside of Hearthstone?
I (pretend to) do a Master's in Embedded Systems Engineering, though Hearthstone does its best to get in the way. Other hobby wise, I play saxophone and oboe in a bunch of orchestras/bands/shows, I'm a freelance cocktail bartender, I play a lot of tennis, and I'm a massive foodie so I love travelling to places to try interesting and tasty foods. And alcohols. Lots of nice alcohols.

NECROTIC - Current 5 seed, Captain, From Germany

What’s your THL history
I got picked up last season by Prep Coin Concede, went 4-6, went to playoffs but shit the bed but then i decided to continue PCCs legacy this season

How did you find THL
I made a Reddit post asking people how they felt about possibly starting/joining a HS League (more highlander format) and then I forgot who but someone replied with a link to thl and explaining the league and I wanted to be apart of it!

How long have you been playing Hearthstone?
I started playing right around the Old Gods expansion but didn't take HS seriously until right before MSoG.

What do you love best about THL?
What I really enjoy about THL is that I have a plethora of people that enjoy the game and are way more knowledgeable than me which has helped me get better and enjoy the game more myself!

Favorite THL Person not on your team?
Rollsafe!

What made you want to be a captain?
To be completely honest I wasn't too happy with my team’s dynamic last season. I enjoyed all the people on it in their own way but the team itself wasn't as active as I wanted it to be.. you wouldn't hear from people for days and one wasn't even in our discord. To me that wasn't the way I wanted to do this so I decided to take matters into my own hands! And with the shit 4-6 record I was afraid I wasn't gonna get picked up ;p

How did you choose your current Teammates?
Picking out teammates was interesting. I wanted people that were involved, non-toxic, and fun to play with and be around. JetLaw was a clear choice for 1 seed because he's a great guy, knowledgeable, very damn helpful, and a steal for his PR! Cinder was also an almost guarantee pick because who's more involved and knowledgeable than a guy on a pretty large podcast (Coin Concede)! It also helps that he's a numbers guy! Bob-O was also a pretty easy pick because he also on a podcast (Around the Hearth) and he's a pretty nice lad! Last but not least is Krak! He's hands down the best guy in the league for his PR value.. sorry everyone else ;)

Favorite Band/Song/Music to jam to while playing hearthstone?
It really depends on my mood but it's either really heavy dubstep (Kai Wachi, Borgore, Excision, Spagheddy,etc.) but I'm also a big Hip-Hop head so I listen to the likes of Lil Wayne, Mac Miller, Logic, Snoop, Biggie, Nas, Chance, A$AP etc.

If you weren't on your current team, what team would you like to be playing for?
I’d have to say either The H*ckbois because of the name but I'm pretty happy with my team so I couldn't really say who'd I rather play for than PCC!

What do you do outside of hearthstone
I keep busy with work and work usually 7 days a week but when I'm not working I'm playing Soccer and tennis or playing Rocket League. I try to travel when I can but that gets a little expensive so I just eat all the food from around the world

How do you feel about your team's prospects this season?
I really think we are going to crush it this season! I'm confident in myself and my teammates. We have a really strong and ever changing lineup that I think we can really cause some waves this season! I have the playoffs in sight and hopefully the title. Now that's all my personal opinion and we could have our self a disaster but I don't see that in our forecast!
