Dirty Mike & The Boys - Team Profile

There have been multiple different team compositions throughout THL history. While most teams decide to go with a standard strategy of having fairly even PR gaps between each seed, some teams choose more unorthodox strategies. We’ve seen the Soupreme strategy of having three 500 or very close to 500 PR players taking the 1-3 seeds while having lower pr players playing in seeds 4 and 5; and in the past Defias has fielded a team with four 400 PR players and one at 200 PR. Last season we saw a team completely shatter our concept of team building. Dirty Mike and the Boys fielded five players who were all within 50 pr of each other. During the preseason Dirty Mike and the Boys were the question mark of the league. How would a team whose 1 seed has less than 400 pr perform? It only took one week for this unique team to demonstrate they’ll be a force to reckon with, winning four of their five matches and gaining 20 points to start the season. Throughout the season, the group of friends kept winning, eventually making it into the playoffs. It was in the playoffs that they made a statement, telling the whole league that they were a team to beat, beating the Red/Blue conference favourite: Aeon. They continued this dominant display of Hearthstone beating Temporal Legends in the semi finals. Unfortunately, their Cinderella story fell short when they fell to Hearthstone Academy in the finals. Fortunately for the Boys, they were able to keep their whole roster for Season 7 and they look like a top tier team, finishing the second week first in the whole league! Today I have the pleasure of sharing more about the Boys to the rest of the league.

What’s your THL history? - Was introduced and started playing in THL in season 6.

How did they find THL? - Through a friend...I believe it was TonyMontana to Ericokey
to what is now Dirty mike and the Boys which then extended to the Texas Stubbies.

How long have they been playing Hearthstone? - Started playing during Goblins
vs Gnomes and naxrammus era for a while(casually Free2Play btw) then stopped.
Picked HS back up during old gods and have been playing ever since
(competitively Pay2Win).

What do they love best about THL? - The comradery and the community. Also watching streams (from Tavern Talk to Salty Saturday).

Favorite THL person not on their team? - RIP magicpants...

Favorite band/song/music to jam to while playing Hearthstone? - Pandora, usually on shuffle, does a good job of keeping my vibe going. More specifically I’m a big fan of Kid Cudi, Childish Gambino, J. Cole and Kendrick Lamar. But 2 chainz - it’s a vibe has to be my go to song at the moment. Also not part of the question but watching other streamers is always fun while playing HS.

If they weren’t on their current team, what team would they like to be playing for? - Hmm tough question, I could definitely see myself on the Texas stubbies one day. Also not opposed to any team in THL. Everyone seems to be great and there are definitely more teams in the league that are stronger. But the fear of getting my prius wrecked would stick in the back of my mind the whole season.

Who is your favourite THL member? - It’s gotta be Vedney, even though I've never talked to him, his discord presence keeps me entertained

If I wasn't one of The Boys I think I'd wanna play for... - Idk, I thought about this for awhile, and I think I would play for just about any team that would have me and was serious about trying to win.

Dirty Mike

What is your THL history? - I played with Dirty Mike and the Boys last season in THL, now I’m participating in both THL and SHL

How did you find THL? - My captain Ericokey asked if I was interested in playing competitive Hearthstone and that was it.  He told me where to sign up and it’s been the Dirty life ever since.

How long have I been playing Hearthstone? - 2 years now I believe

What do I love about THL? - It is competitive and has a good/strong community.  Also all of the Prius’s

What’s your THL history? - I subbed in for 2 weeks for N.W.A in season 5 and thought the league was great so I became a captain of an all new team in season 6 and we made it to the finals.


How did they find THL? -  I found out about THL from TonyMontana.


How long have they been playing Hearthstone? - I've been playing hearthstone since Whispers of the Old Gods.


What do they love best about THL? - Overall I'd say the competition is great but at the moment I really love that I can not play against the druid class.

What’s the team’s THL history? - We came into season 6 as a team Nobody knew about and made it all the way to the finals. I'm hoping we can emulate that success this season


What made them want to be a captain? - I wanted to be a captain because I already had a group of people I wanted to play on a team with.

How did you choose your (current) teammates? - We are all friends outside of hearthstone mostly through playing magic the gathering competitively for long time.

How do you feel about your team’s prospects this season? - I feel like we can finish strong but I do think we have a very tough conference this season so it will be fun to see what teams make it out of this conference.

If they weren’t on their current team, what team would they like to be playing for? - I guess either Texas stubbies because they are good friends or Aeon because they seem to have the competitive nature that I would want on my team.
