I think it’s safe to say that your average Hearthstone player does not have memories of each of the Star Wars trilogies hitting the silver screen. A majority of us likely saw the start of the Sequel Trilogy back in 2015. And there’s still a good group of us who were conscious enough in 1999 to remember standing in line overnight for the release of The Phantom Menace. But what would you guess is the percentage of current Hearthstone players who saw Star Wars, before it was renamed ‘A New Hope’, in theatres back in 1977? Cards on the table: I consider myself an older gamer. I turned 40 last month, which means that I grew up in an era where the cell phone I got when I turned 16 had Snake as its only game. It was my sophomore year of college that Facebook launched and you could only get in if you had a valid college email address. And, I was already 29 in 2014 when Hearthstone launched its open beta. I’ve known for the past decade that there are many gamers at or near my age playing Hearthstone – there’s plenty of streamers that are pretty close to me in age. But, surely we in the late 30s/early 40s bracket are some of the oldest playing the game, right? Most of us with kids are comfortable reaching ‘Dad Legend,’ Diamond 5, each month – but there are no Grandpas playing Hearthstone. Right? Jimphilos has entered the chat.

The legacy of Hearthstone Academy (HSA) is certainly a noteworthy one in the history of THL: multiple championships under the leadership of Hall of Fame captain Sage, 6 Hall of Fame players across 17 seasons, and a closely knit band of teammates sticking together under different team names throughout. It’s a rarity for THL. Greetings THL! Can you believe it's been 30 seasons already? Team Hearth League has been around for over 10 years at this point. The league's history is vast and deep, with all kinds of awesome people passing through and participating. We wanted to celebrate a special way: 30 blogs for 30 seasons. With Season 30 underway, we'll be posting a new blog covering THL's history and highlighting the best THL has to offer almost daily. Keep an eye out for new posts on here and within Discord—we dug deep for this and got some of THL's oldest members to participate.
If you ever fall behind, we'll also be updating this post to serve as a hub for all 30 For 30 blogs. Make sure to bookmark it to keep up with all of our content! Hey everyone. For the first few seasons, The Board considered adding logos to series pages to be a great success. Teams were allowed to express themselves in fun ways that offered creativity and brought an extra layer to THL’s culture. Unfortunately, recent logos have created controversy among certain circles within the community. We’ve tried to manage and temper those controversies but the influx of new players and a changing culture have led us to take greater measures to manage the problem.
