By MartyB THL’s 30 for 30 series represents a fun opportunity for us to compare players across history. Typically, we’re focused on a single season or lifetime, but we rarely return to specific seasons to measure player success. Fortunately, PAR now allows us to look back on individual seasons and rank them in ways that we were never able to before. For this, we’re omitting Season Alpha of THL, the first season ever. Matches were played in a best of 7, rather than a best of 5. PAR values are weighted differently compared to the rest of Legacy’s history as a result. We’ll only be focusing on seasons where best-of-5 matches are implemented. We’ll also be including playoff matches, as lifetime PAR includes all matches someone plays in a season. Honorable Mentions: markshire, Season 2: 9-0 (27-9), 12.821 PAR Plantz, Season 11: 10-1 (30-10), 12.901 PAR AlwaysJustinTime, Season 17: 9-1 (28-13), 12.907PAR Ihatebananas, Season 11: 9-1 (29-12), 13.093 PAR Brewski, Season 9: 9-1 (29-9), 13.209 PAR Readers will notice a pattern of deep runs with each of the players listed. Outside of Ihatebananas, all players listed reached at least the semifinals in their listed seasons. Several of these players are also listed as All-Stars in their seasons, but very few won MVP. As it turns out, maintaining a high level of play throughout the regular season and postseason is extremely difficult, even for the best that THL has to offer. Of the players above, only two were able to win it all with their team: markshire clinched a championship with The Hairy Generals in Season 2, and AlwaysJustinTime earned his championship win in Season 17 with Foolish Madmen. It’s a testament to how competitive THL can be in a grueling season and how much of a team effort winning a championship is. 10: rebobson, Season 20 Match Record: 10-1 Game Record: 31-7 PAR: 13.226 Season 20 may be rebob’s most prototypical season. After a season of dominance, F2L would fall in the semifinals to JustWin. Rebob would have to wait until Season 27 to get the elusive Legacy championship. That said, his performance here is still one of the best in THL history. 9: Automated_Button, Season 17 Match Record: 9-1 Game Record: 29-11 PAR: 13.383 AlwaysJustinTime’s impressive Season 17 is overshadowed by his own teammate’s performance. Automated_Button seemingly benefitted from being sheltered in the 3 seed, but unlike most other players getting sheltered, their performance well surpassed what was expected of them. They were arguably the biggest part of Foolish Madmen’s championship win that season, boasting a 9-2 game record in 3 rounds of playoffs. 8: Memyselfandi, Season 5 Match Record: 10-2 Game Record: 33-16 PAR: 13.387 Hearthstone Academy has always been one of THL’s most iconic teams, but the club arguably reached its peak with its championship win in its inaugural Season 5. Memyselfandi led the team from the 2 seed as one of the strongest players from this era of THL. They would do it again 5 seasons later to bring Hearthstone Academy its third Legacy championship. 7: AlwaysJustinTime, Season 26 Match Record: 9-0 Game Record: 27-11 PAR: 13.398 If we’re counting honorable mentions, AlwaysJustinTime is the only player to show up twice on this list. This time, his undefeated season propelled him to one of the most impressive performances in Legacy history. Justin managed to carry JUST pimpIN to the finals and even secured a 3-1 win in his final matchup, but his team fell a few points short to A Posse Missing (Lost Boys). 6: Cheesee10, Season 3 Match Record: 10-2 Game Record: 33-21 PAR: 13.576 Cheesee10’s performance is the earliest one on this top 10 list. Despite the “worse” game record compared to those below, their season featured one of the more difficult schedules on the list to this point. Cheesee10’s season was also key in getting Team Soupreme a championship win. They locked up the 1 seed while the roster’s two other 500PR players feasted on lower-seeded opponents. 5: SkrtReynolds, Season 20 Match Record: 10-2 Game Record: 33-18 PAR: 13.721 Skrt’s performance is somewhat of an anomaly for our list—it’s the only season that features a 5 seed. Although Skrt’s team, JustWin, wasn’t able to secure the championship that season, SkrtReynolds managed an All-Star spot with fellow teammates WildRose and Pokemon661. 4: Slimsch, Season 4 Match Record: 9-1 Game Record: 28-13 PAR: 14.369 Slimsch led Team Rank 5 to a championship with one of the most busted records we’ve ever seen. Although their season was one for the record books, the team’s roster was no slouch either—both Jesus C and MVParker, key members of the team, were inducted into the Hall of Fame alongside Slimsch. 3: RonMexico, Season 14 Match Record: 10-1 Game Record: 32-13 PAR: 14.975 Our only Board member on this list, RonMexico has been one of the most consistently strong THL players for years. He’s been in the running for nearly every crossover race, showcasing his talents throughout the league. Ron’s championship season with 4th and Inches is a highlight to his extensive THL career. 2: Fsorace1, Season 11 Match Record: 9-0 Game Record: 27-3 PAR: 16.35312284 There two were players in our honorable mentions that featured impressive records from Season 11. Neither of them won MVP, and neither of them were the best performances from that season. Fsorace1 is why. Team Next Level missed playoffs that season, but Fsorace1’s performance was so impressive that it still earns the #2 spot on our rankings. A 90% game win rate is unheard of in Legacy. There may never be a regular season performance as dominant as this ever again. 1: YoDaddy, Season 27
Match Record: 10-0 Game Record: 30-11 PAR: 16.691 YoDaddy did everything right this season. He held down the 1 seed with one of the most difficult schedules in Legacy history. His opponents collectively boasted a 58.21% game win rate, akin to an all-star level player. Teams would be elated to walk away with a positive record against opponents of this strength, but YoDaddy went above and beyond. The only thing missing from YoDaddy’s historic season is a championship to go alongside it. Although it might have stung at the time to fall short of the grand prize, this season performance is one of the biggest marks of pride anyone could have in THL.

I was a wee little rookie on YoDaddy's team during that historic season.
